What's better?

-Heroic Backpack vs. Nid Garb w/ Resist Cards

-Elemental Carded Valk Armor vs. Elemental Armor (& w/ what cards?)

Is there anything better than those options? Situational?

Depends on the MVP! If they have a lot of magic that you're being hit with or multiple elements nid garb could be better than HPB.

Just throwing this out there, I like using a +10 deviant valk mant over a +10 deviant HBP because the extra dodge allows me to live longer.

Elemental armor could be better in cases of wanting more attack / hp etc?

If you're incredibly devoted to pure MvP's (I'm not rich enough to do this >.>) you should use Elemental carded HBP's (mostly Jakk, and perhaps shadow or the other ones if you want) > Nid. Useful in many, many situations, just incredibly expensive.

Is deviant really effective against most MvPs? To my understanding the hardest part about MvP's is the ability to survive large elemental attacks, which deviant increases the damage of, rather than reduces. Though I like the idea of using a Valk Mant. What do you think about Resist Carded Valk Mants?

Michael: Good suggestion, but I can't afford that :<

Thank you all for the suggestions so far

Low Tier MvP:

Most: Deviant is very useful, makes them tickle. Especially those small EQ's (won't kill you, but it'll make it even less!)

Some: They use waterball lv999999999, you'd die immdieately. Particularly Turtle general, white lady, drake, etc. For this you can just use Immune any garment (they don't hurt anyways) + Water armor.

Few: Can't think of any atm...maybe some uses a hard hitting holy/shadow/dark attack. You'll still want immune HBP for these, or FAW for shadow/holy. Use unfrozen fire against ESL.

Mid Tier MvP:

Deviant is still very useful, but you'll see yourself using more Immune here due to elemental - unless you go full elemental reduction (Elemental Armor, headgears, and KBC waterdrops) then you can use DR with it.

Some problematic ones are like Stormy Knight, you'll have to wear unfrozen elemental armors, and DR will make you die instantly.

High Tier MvP:

Most: Almost all the high tiers use either a super strong elemental or multiple ones - you won't be using DR here. Immune and elemental garments (Nid I suppose for cheaper price) will make you survive much more

Few: The only few exceptions are like Beezlbub, or FBH (but must wear other shadow/holy reductions). Not a lot where you can wear DR and still survive their magic.

This is very very very general, I hope it's useful in considering what you want. In the very end, if you want to MvP all of them, then you'll need all of those gears.

For best results, optimize for the MVP in question.

For most economical use of gear, don't optimize for any one MVP.

Obviously, these are in direct conflict, and that's the balance you need to strike

I have +9 HBPs in Immune, Deviant, Genies, and Flameguard. I also have 4 sets of AKH+Glasses with ele resist cards (Red/Yellow/Blue Stone and AntiEvil)....

I have Unfro/Holy valk armor as well as 2 wind unfrozens and 1 water unfrozen. Wind unfrozen is incredibly useful, since the game designers love monsters with wind attacks and SG.

But yeah, my point is that you will need a bunch of different gear for MVP...
