By the way, for the Dreamless Heart costume, you could easily just drop the pink parts and the red earrings, and it would work for males, as well.

You could recolor the Solitary Soul costume to make it look more feminine. Just not sure how you'd do that.

Seems like this game likes to use the same costume for both genders, rather than having a costume for different genders. There are exceptions, though, like the Sheriff and Showgirl costume.

But yeah, I think honestly, these costumes both have the potential to work on both genders well, and the Dreamless Heart isn't as revealing as most female costumes, so that right there is awesome. :p_laugh:

Also, I don't mean to offend, but you mirrored Solitary Soul wrong for the back. The part around the waist that drapes down is on the left side on both front and back views... Shouldn't it be on the right side on the back view? :p_conf:  RO1 sprites were very bad about mirroring certain things, and it's not uncommon in other games, either. I haven't seen it in this game so far, but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen, sadly. :p_swt:

It's impossible to have "mirroring" issues in RO2, because the character models are 3D models rather than 2D. Just saying. :)

As for the costumes, I'm not so fond of Dreamless Heart, but Solitary Soul looks amazing, and I could easily see it on female characters as well. It doesn't need to be recoloured at all to be more "feminine" for a female version, IMHO. But then, I like sticking my girls in dark colours.

Actually, as with all things made by people; mistakes can happen. The textures and positioning files are made by people, 3D or not. If they happen to make a texture or positioning file wrong, it's going to "mirror" wrong. It does seem to happen a lot less in newer 3D games, but I have seen it in a few, so it wouldn't surprise me if it pops up in this one. Typically, though, it's usually something minor, like the way weapons are mounted. An example would be a sword mounted on your character's left side, yet when you turn around, it's on your character's right side. It's odd, but it does happen, even in 3D games.

But anyway, we seriously need some new out-of-the-box costumes. :p_idea:

I've never heard of that happening before, ever, on a 3D model. I make models myself, so really, the only thing I've ever had was UV mapping errors where the texture itself was messed up, but the model's polygons were still all correct. That's what I'm talking about by "mirroring" being impossible on a 3D model. Yeah, you can mess up the texturing, but because it's a 3D model, all the polygons are going to be placed correctly no matter which way you turn it, because the model was created as one solid piece. Now, the sword thing you mentioned is technically possible if it's not "attached" to the model. You could have instances of mistakes on the part of the game creators, where they went and stuck the weapon on one side, then temporarily forgot the concept of left and right when showing a back view of the model on a sudden switch (like, say, for a cut scene).

However, that weapon issue would not apply to clothing, because it would be attached, in some form or another, to the model itself. It's impossible to turn the model around and find an asymmetrical piece of clothing to have suddenly switched sides... only way that could happen is if the modeler forgot the existence of left and right, but that would VERY quickly be picked up when they turned the model to the side, and then it would be fixed either way.

Yeah, everything I've seen it in when it comes to 3D games has been costumes (hats, capes, wings, et cetera) and weapons. I don't think I've ever seen it happen with clothing on a character. :p_laugh:

The point of mentioning it in the first place regardless is that the art here is mirrored wrong, regardless of if it would mirror wrong or not in the game.
