How does Evanesco work? With an AOE from a boss in a raid, like the bosses in the Arena,

if a Aoe does 2000 to everyone, does that mean the boss takes 2400?

I though it worked like a reflect(except you still get hit for 100% of the damage). So assuming its a 10-man raid [(10%2000)*10] so the boss would take 2000 not 2400...
