I am currently level 115 and use RC as my main mobbing skill. I switch from a katar to a Keris(Caress) and a moonlight dagger whenever I need to regenerate SP. The two daggers do their job well in gaining back SP but they don't do much damage (around 250-300 per hit). I need an upgrade to my right hand dagger (Caress).

In the future, when I don't have to worry about SP regeneration, I plan to use an ice pick, but how does an ice pick measure up to other daggers in pvm? The addition damage formula of an ice pick in renewal is [atk+def_of_target/2] if I'm not mistaken. It'll be useful for monsters like Bradium Golem (359 Def). Is it still effective for monsters with <100 Def? What's an alternative to an ice pick?

I don't plan to go for a quad SK main gauche any time soon so I will stick the affordable daggers.

SP solutions:

If you don't like using the low damage moonlight dagger, rideword hat in mobbing does wonders for your SP. +0 is more than enough for levelling, but +9 will nearly guarantee you infinite SP, even in 1v1 against those SP draining biolab monsters and mental breaker MVPs. The vanargard helm is even more powerful, though quite expensive. I've never used it since my RWH +0 still suits all my needs as 150.

Actually, when I was levelling as 115, I used the soul-collector armor card, I think that's earth deleter. It stops your SP recovery, but since I was fighting like 10+ monsters at once at Nogg and Juperos, I gained far more SP back then I used. Didn't even use EDPs, but that would have been good. If for some reason you run out of SP, then you have your moonlight/keris as restoration.

About ice pick, it's usually used alongside a powerful weapon like twin edge for cross impact. Ice pick is not amazing for normal attack as far as I've seen, but I've not tested it extensively. It's a beast in PVP with proper set-up though. I've seen a GX one-shot an RG on full buffs, something even guillotine fist from sura often fails to do. (Yes! The potential of GX is that you can use poison/VI or element, while suras are stuck with neutral!)

IMO, monster defense really isn't a big deal, even at max levels. It's really only noticeable on skills- Like doing about 2k-5k more damage cross impact to a poring than to an agara mantis, but 5k isn't a big deal when all my normal hits do 5k anyway.

So any recommendations for a budget DD GX?

Also a question regarding Katars,

Which would serve best for general leveling (crit type, RC, Counter Slash):

+9 Infiltrator w/ FS enchants

+9 glorious Jamadhar (+20% crit damage)

+9 Durga

any other?

Rolling cutter is the best way. You can take on more than ten mobs at once consistently with it, but criticals only do damage to a single target. They are usually used for MVP or PVP.

About katars, there's also the wild beast claw and blood tears. WBC is cheap, enchantable, cardable. Blood tears is the same, but with two slots. Kaho cards usually work well, since many enemies are earth.

IMO, card slots and enchants aren't a big deal. You should just get your hands on the highest attack weapon you can find, and use it for everything. Converters and EDP should suffice for all your 150 levels. Difference in damage isn't too significant.

alright, noted :)

Going back to the topic of Dual Daggers, what do you think about Assassin's Dagger? Decent atttack (140), level 4 weapon, but shadow property (not many mobs are weak to shadow but 100% damage to most anyway).

How about VVS elemental or VVVS daggers? cheap and decent attack

That brings up another question; if I use 2 elemental weapons (i.e. Red and Blue Twin edge of naght Sieger), which element will it take?

Don't forget that daggers have 25 and 50% penalty to medium and large monsters.

Edit:

About assassin's dagger... The eden daggers are better. Higher attack and neutral property. Comes with free cards and a small enchant. Shadow attribute can be gained from cursed water.

VVVS? I guess if you have lots of daggers with size cards and lots of daggers with race, you'll be fine 1v1 with no skills. Then again, I noticed you wanted a "budget" DD GX. Of course, you can do with a 2m katar what you might need 20m of daggers to do.
