It's an old bug. Sometimes they won't see what you see with that party pane, but all of them will receive party buffs and such. I've seen it even in Pre-Renewal. I have some theories as to how this bug is triggered, but pulling it off on purpose is pretty tough to do.

I remember playing on Sakray 5 years ago and having almost every single guild member of mine in a single party that was glitched, after that he went around inviting random people in pront and we had like 50 people at one time I wish I had screen shots still but my old computer broke. It was quite the lulz

I didn't just see it. I experienced it once.  xD  Actually, multiple times over the course of my years of playing.

I was waiting for someone to notice that lol. It took me a while to figure out how to get rid of this nonsense.

 

 

Basically, I entered party 1. Suddenly it appears as if I've been removed from the party, so I'm like "ok, whatever". Then moments later 2 people appear in my "party" but I can't see health bars or anything, and neither is the leader. I type /leave so I can join another, party, but it doesn't remove the two visibile players. Now I'm confused, so I type /leave a few more times before logging in another character, creating my own party, and inviting my scholar to test if that gets rid of the two random people....

 

Success! It works! Then suddenly one of the two players speaks in party chat, and their name appears again and I'm like . So I /leave my alts party, and no more party chat. I'm think to myself "ok, party chat went away once I left, the bug must be gone". Not so lucky.

 

I go back into eden whilst thinking everything is once again all peachy. As soon as I approach gramps...why hello you two who aren't in my party, and you've even brought a 3rd unknown friend into my nonexistent party as well! Now I'm confused again. So I log out to my char screen hoping that will fix it. Success again! They are no longer in my non-existent party.

 

I press onwards into the low TI once again and find a party. I get invited shortly after entering into a nearly full party....and suddenly the party chat says "camp here" and I double check the names of the people speaking, and none of them are in my party. I travel a bit south as you can see in the picture, and the further down I move the more party members I magically gain!

 

Sadly, while I could read both chats, only moments after taking this screenshot, my scholar apparently decided he wanted to solo once again and I was again "ejected" from both parties as my party window went blank.

 

Exasperated at this point and just wanting to complete the darned TI, I figure the last thing I could try myself was to just log out of my account completely. If this didn't work, I figured it was a party bug that would have to be broken by them leaving their parties entirely. So I log back in and....Success! I no longer can see party chats. I re-enter the gramps TI once more, and all is well once again in the realm of Gramps' twisted "special hunting area".
