This year, we have been invited to participate in the RWC art contest that will be taking place later this year-even though we are not participating in the tournament there. Though we have no solid details on prizes, rules and such yet we will update this thread as soon as we have more info. It sounds like they want to do some interesting prizes, but no info just yet. 

 

This is a placeholder of sorts to let our artists know in advance if they would like to participate. We are thinking that the deadline will be late October at the earliest?

 

1. Must be an original work of the participant (no photoshops from the google image search)

Format

#Fan art format：Width X Length : 1920×1440 Pixel(fixed),　Resolution should be over 72dpi, file size should be less than 10MB as  jpeg, gif, png format file.

 

Participation prize:

 

We will be giving a customized RWC champ crown to qualifying entries, it does not have to be created specifically for the RWC event, but must be of the standards of the previous artwork we've sent to HQ for RWC events in the past! No stick figures!

Do you even know the size they need to be so that artists can start work on them? We can't really make anything if we don't know how big it's got to be.....

I guess I'll try to participate in this. There isn't enough gunslinger art in the game anyway. Then again, I'm not the best artist out there.

Its alright if you're not the best artist, I encourage you to do your best and participate anyways. Putting in the time and effort to contribute is always appreciated by everyone in the community, regardless of how skillful you are.

As for myself, I'm not much of a (digital) artist, though I'll be planning to participate as well. I hope you do too!

If you do plan to participate in this, I'll gladly make gunslinger art with you.

I believe it should be like the ones before:

2. Finished image should be 1600x1200

Any recommendations on where to upload the original file then because it will most likely be extremely big

Sorry, got a clarification on the size and format. From the 2011 contest, there wasn't really a over-arching theme. There were individual and group images aplenty. 

 

I use dropbox for transferring larger files.

Is the contest contested by all RO servers or just within iRO? And will each server have it's own winner to get the "interesting" prize =p? I soooo wanna do this

RWC 2013 Art Contest details are up.

 

Image Format:

• 1920 x 1440 pixel
• 300dpi or higher
• Less than 3mb in size

Theme: Ragnarok Online

• Art should include RO character(s)

Prizes:

 

1st place: 500,000 won (~$470 USD)

2nd place: 300,000 won (~$280 USD)

3rd place: 200,000 won (~$188 USD)

Note that these are the prizes listed on kRO website. It may not apply to us.

 

Due date: Nov. 3rd 2013. Winners will be chosen on Nov. 6th 2013.

What does it mean to be customizable? Like you get to choose either sprites of the RWC Crown (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) place?

No, it's not mentioned as a must in the (admittedly) brief guidelines we've received from HQ about this. Don't worry about the logo, if necessary we can add it before submitting to HQ.

Actually someone PM'd me and offered to make a png of the logo for me so I can get to work on it right away and add it in myself.

Okay, here's my entry. I can't draw hands or feet to save my life, but I'd say this is one of my good ones. I tried making the logo look like it was freshly spray painted so it would fit with the rogues.
