Last Month of Malaysia/ Singapore Ragnarok Online. =o 

 

I used to have a character there but stopped playing in 2004. >.< I guess it doesn't matter anymore as I have my current characters on iRO.

 

Suppose they would come here to iRO?

But yeah it's always very sad when a server shuts, I still remember when euRO shut. :c

My sister has friends who are still playing mRO. Base on what she told me there's still a lot of players on mRO, just that they aren't making enough profit or something. And yeah it's always sad to see a server goes. :c

 

I wonder what would happen to RWC in the coming years, suppose the mRO players cannot represent their own server anymore then and get prizes from their own server.

I think all those boxes every month and Enriched Hammer is saving iRO.

For the moment, but what the general complacent population doesn't realize is we're teetering over the edge of a cliff to a depression worse than the 1930's. Enriched Hammer and boxes won't keep people spending when they're starving for food irl.

 

And with that, many small businesses and non-essentials will close, RO will likely be among them.

 

That's the sad reality of our real life global economic situation.

 

 

 

With that said - Milk 'em while you can WP! And players, enjoy it whilst you can.

Oh you're talking about the real world now well then yes the whole world is screwed due to the greedy aristocrats running the world.That being said if iRO shuts down will our data's be saved for future resurrection or will everything be deleted?

I'm kind of finding contradicting messages from forumers here. Influx of players = more players to keep the server going = lag = bad. And on the other hand, people are predicting server will die within a year. o3o So increase of population is not good either.. But server will die when there's lack of players...

Well, if there are more players, then WarpPortal will make more money, and thus there will be money for server upgrades.

Yea, my friend said that their contract has ended and they do not get enough profit to renew the contract to run the game. So they just close the server, 

Well, this is still a shocking news for them to know it in the last minutes of server closure.

The "shutdown" isn't even the half of it. The shutdown is just a bunch of incompetent politicians crying because they can't get their way. Each side is acting like schoolyard children where they both want it their way, and their way only. Admittedly the conservative side is giving more than the liberal side though. Even an article about a New York Times journalist said yesterday [this is the] “most closed, control-freak administration I’ve ever covered”

 

The shutdown is all a show to make the opposite parties look bad. It's all political posturing at its best. Even a national park ranger in Washington said “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can" It's all one giant game to them at the expense of your average citizen.

 

I don't want this to turn into anymore of a political discussion though, so I won't elaborate on that further. If you or anyone else is interested to understand more you can pm me and I'll fill you in as best as I can.

 

Edit- My point with all that was to say that the economy is more than just a US government "shutdown". It goes Way beyond even the US, though we are certainly a big part of it as the dollar is currently the world reserve currency and nearly all currency trades use the dollar as the standard of trade value (BRICKS nations want to push the US out of power though, and they're succeeding, but it won't happen before a full on global crash, which will most likely be within the next year according to top economists and hedge fund managers [basically big Wall Street players]).

How would the transfer process work? Are they updated the same as our server? Do they have some "special" items that only their server has that's coming? And what about the tons of gods/mvp/zeny and stuff

According to the article:
 

The balance retrieval and login to North American Servers will be announced later in official website for details.

It also says "The players are suggested to continue the game at North American Servers," so that means their data will be given to iRO so Malaysian players can continue playing their characters here.
