Hello,

I just started playing iRO and I made an Alchemist, however I just now started to notice i'm struggling in the higher up 70+ Eden quests i.e (missing a lot and getting hit more than I'd like) I don't know if I should invest in some decent mid-range gear or if my stats are completely screwed. Right now I mainly depend on my Homunculus and my melee because I don't have Acid Bomb or anything yet. It's hard to get decent info in-game and all the guides I see are varied, so I'm hoping to get straight forward answers here.

My current Stats/Gear are as follows...

Stats:

STR: 51
AGI: 58
VIT: 40
DEX: 50
LUK: 1
INT: 1

Gear:

+5 Gemmed Sallet
Eden Group Uniform III
Fireblend
+5 Buckler
Eden Group Manteau
Eden Group Boots III
Chambered RWC 2012 Ring [1] + 3 Random Enchants
Chambered RWC 2012 Pendant [1] + 3 Random Enchants

Budget: 16mil

Goal:

To be a self sufficient, potion throwing MVP killing machine!!!

Please someone give me a push in the right direction!

In advanced, thanks! :)

Dex too low. agi too low for agi build, way to high for vit build. Vit too low for vit build, too high for agi build. Weapon is terrible either way. Get better weapon, and add dex until your hit is acceptable for leveling, then boost agi and str. Do Halloween event for the+20 flee (until Dec 4) costume.

Well, what sort of stats should I aim for? What is a good weapon? Ths sorta discourages me, I can't really reset my stats can I? I'm more confused now.

Hi! Why don't you try the iRO Wiki? http://irowiki.org/wiki/Alchemist  and http://irowiki.org/wiki/Biochemist

Even if the info is a little (?) bit outdated it can give you some basics.  If you want to kill MvP you should try with the Acid Bomb Leveling build of Biochemist.  You can see that it transitions nicely into a Geneticist MvP Killer build (whether the one shown at the Wiki or the one here at the forums)

Acid Bomb is affected by STR and INT, so you need to put 90 in each. A Heroic BackPack at either+7 or +9 will be your best garment as it will boost your Atk and MAtk if you get 90 on each (which you must be doing anyway) or a Nidhoggur Shadow Garb to protect from the elemental attacks (Waterball hurts doesn't it?)

Twin Edge of Natch Sieger (Red) increase the damage of AB further...yet there is a debate at the forums about the best weapon for MvP'ing, you  should check the thread.  An Erde is fine if you got Dieter as Homun S (his Pyroclastic might destroy your weapon if it isn't a mace)

I remember Dr. Azzy saying (posting?) that you should be prepared with elemental armors too in order to withstand the damage.  Also equips and cards that increase dmg against boss monsters are good options.  For example a Valkyrie Shield with an Alice card (but remember that while it reduces the dmg from the MvP it will increase the dmg dealt to you by normal monsters)

Lastly, your Homun S must fit your style of MvP'ing: Dieter is better if you MvP with a party, Sera is better if you like to MvP alone, also it seems that at the forums the consensus is that Amistr is the best base Homun for both.

Also remember that using the bombs is costly, so you might rely on your Homun for a while until you get enough funds or raw materials.

Hope this helps.  :p_smile:

Hmm your build seems mixed but I would advise to abandon Agi at the moment and pump more into vit and str.

I made my Alchemist 99 by cart revoing Earth Petits till 91 then doing TI as a secondary healer with white potion pitch. The weapon will work with Earth Petits, Orc warriors, Undead orcs since they take more damage from fire.

Your Dex is fine for this route.

Your buckler could use a race reduction card. A Pumpkin+ Alarm combo will be an excellent purchase but if you cannot afford that, Go for a hell poodle clip and meats.

I thought my above post would be useful, I'm sorry if it wasn't, I was posting from phone, so it was rather terse - I gave you stat suggestion (dex -> agi+str ), though you could also go to a vit build like Xord suggested. I don't have much post-renewal experience leveling below 99, so I'm not really qualified to advise on that.

The weapon is clearly bad though - fireblend for alchemist was something that people used to do way back before renewal when it was really hard to level alchemist/bio was realy hard to level, and people would actually level them by killing things one at a time manually casting firebolt, or using the floras to proc firebolt. Eden group weapons, or a fancier, more expensive weapon (really, almost anything is better than fireblend, unless you're truly desperate for fire element, and don't want to use endow or converters) - it's only 100 atk, and you don't have the int to make the firebolts do good damage.  http://db.irowiki.or...job=11&sort=3,2

As a Biochemist->Geneticist, should I prioritize 90 INT or 90 DEX? Should I add a little into VIT too (I'm thinking adding in about 20) or should I ignore it until I get INT or DEX or both to 90? Also, is a +7 Red Twin Edge of Naght Sieger okay weapon to start with? What cards should I put in it?

Red Twin Edge is best general purpose genetic weapon , put 3 archer skel cards into it. (if you want to read that sentence in 20-page-thread format, see the genetic weapon discussion thread)

IF you're using HBP, 90 str, then 90 int, then probably a bit of vit, then 90 dex.
