So about 4 days or a week ago my client started acting really retarded. Most of the time I get "fail to patch server" and most of the time when I'm inside the game when I go into a portal or a warp somewhere I get disconnected. For instance if I was in prontera and want to go into the eden building I would get disconnected OR when I use bwings I also get disconnected. It's getting so annoying and I can't even do my TIs for days now not to mention other side quests. Idk but maybe the "huge" increase in population from different parts of the world have something to do with this? I doubt it but one can wonder, right? So guys any help you can give would be greatly appreciated-and yes I've read the stickied "How to fix the "failed to connect to patch server" error" thread as well but to no avail.

 

This annoying..... really annoying. Why should it be so hard to just play a game?

We've had a few other cases of this sort of issue, but I don't know that we've ever come to a definite solution. 

 

You do NOT have the normal failed-to-connect-to-file-server issue (that is a separate issue that only effects patch server, you're seeing the same issue in game). 

 

This syndrome above (random failures while patching, random disconnections upon login, random disconnections upon map change) implies that outgoing connections from your computer are sometimes just plain failing. What doesn't make sense is /why/ this is happening... 

 

There is a thread from a few months ago where we talked about this (didn't resolve the issue afaik), but I can't find it now. I'm renaming this thread so that the key words are in it , and if anyone can find that other one, i'll rename that too. 

 

 

In one case a few years ago, a user reported that it was fixed after removing Hamachi/LogMeIn, some half-assed "zero configuration" VPN tool. But since then, people with this problem have reported not having that program or anything similar installed.

 

Lately, though, there has been an uptick in reports of this issue (ex: http://forums.warppo...and-random-dcs/ ) so I'd really like to get to the bottom of this, but I don't really know how to proceed. 

 

I'd particularly like to get data on whether this is specific to an internet connection, or to a computer - does the same thing happen when using the same computer but a different internet connection?

This thread is about frequent disconnections when changing maps, which give "Failed to connect..." error.

Tried removing hamachi/Logmein, i'll see if this fixes my problem.

My connection is fine. I use comcast. I've been playing for more than most of the players here on and off and all those time I've never had this problem before it's only recently. I don't know what hamachi/logmeln is and I've never messed with any vpn stuff.

 

I've asked around in-game and most of my friends and random players say it's mostly due to my client. Screwed up on some patch perhaps. Since this week's Turn In is really crappy I might skip this week's ti and uninstall then reinstall a new client from the site to see if it works.

 

My baseless logic in this subject still points to the huge increase of population. That's all I can think of because that's the only thing significant that happened.

Same problem here....

 

I log in move for a while (like some 10 secs minimum), then the game freezes and I disconnect.  I'm currrently in Morroc and Sograt area.
