I'm not sure what happened, but all of a sudden this morning, everything I see in all towns are like compacted together. I've tried copying an original install to my RO folder, & re-patching, but it didn't make a difference.

This is what Eden now looks like to me. It makes it almost impossible to move or vend since I can't see between people, chats, shops, etc...

Do the following:

Warning: Making any errors while editing the registry could break your Windows installation. You should therefore create a restore point before following these instructions, which will enable you to undo your changes if necessary.
  • Close any and all open Ragnarök Online clients.
  • Open the start menu, type "regedit", and then press shift-control-enter.
  • Answer the User Account Control dialogue window that is presented affirmatively.
  • Select the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key in the left pane.
  • Press control-F.
  • Enter "g_indoorViewLatitude" into the Find what field, disable every option in the Look at field except for Values, and then press enter.
  • Wait until a matching value is found.
  • Select the g_indoorViewLatitude value and then press delete.
  • Press Yes.
  • Press F3 to search for additional matching values. If none are found, then you have finished. Otherwise, repeat steps 7 to 9.

Wow... I would have never know about this & never saw this anywhere before. I'll try it.

Thanks so much!

I failed to mention prior to this happening I was having a lot of graphic issues in Thanatos Tower. I normally leave effects off all the time, to prevent this, but when using my Gene I'm really not able to otherwise I can't tell when CC is casting, & when it isn't.

I also had a problem with RO crashing whenever I tried to use the Nav System, at certain points, to go to Thanatos Tower. There seems to be a bug with that.

Do the following:

Warning: Making any errors while editing the registry could break your Windows installation. You should therefore create a restore point before following these instructions, which will enable you to undo your changes if necessary.

  • Close any and all open RO clients.
  • Press Windows-R (the Windows key and the R key).
  • Type "regedit" and then press enter.
  • Answer the User Account Control dialogue window affirmatively.
  • Press control-F.
  • Enter "g_indoorViewLatitude" into the "find what" field, disable every option in the "look at" field except for "values", and then press enter.
  • Wait until a matching value is found.
  • Select the "g_indoorViewLatitude" value and then press delete.
  • Press "yes".
  • Press F3 to search for additional matching values. If none are found, then you have finished.
  • Repeat steps 7 to 10 until no matching values remain.

Any other suggestions, since "g_indoorViewLatitude", doesn't exist in my reg?

I tried uninstalling, deleting everything, & re-installing. I was then unable to run start RO due to an error message with the Skin for the Stream. The only way I was able to get it running again was to copy some of the old files back. Now I still have the same problem.

Eh? That value should definitely exist.

Try performing the search again, but this time select the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT key in the left pane first, so Registry Editor searches the entire registry (it can only search forwards). You should also ensure you set the "find what" field correctly.

If you still can't find the value, then try searching for a key named Ragnarok. The g_indoorViewLatitude value is contained in a subkey of it named Option.

I've been a Computer & Network Admin. So I do know what I'm doing & am fully aware of how to find things in the registry. I did a complete search & that does not exist. I don't have to go to a specific folder when I searched all of them ;)

I even tried it without the "g_" & still nothing was found.

I'm running XP if that makes a difference.

Oh… I've realised why you're unable to find the setting in the registry: it was moved to the file savedata\OptionInfo.lua in the RO client folder. Oops! (It's difficult to remember which settings are stored in the registry and which are stored in Lua script files.)

To fix the problem, open the aforementioned file with a text editor and change the line

OptionInfoList["Indoor_ViewLatitude"] = Number

to

OptionInfoList["Indoor_ViewLatitude"] = -50.000000

It looks like I fixed the problem by re-installing my video driver. I did check that setting, & changed it to what you said, however I doubt it will make much of a difference, since it was set at -45.

Thanks again for the help.

I just started having a graphics issue since right before this past maintenance. I've tried un-installing, & re-installing RO, my video driver, etc... Nothing has helped. I had to use an old patch to even get RO to work after I did re-install it because of this error.

SkinError_zps7cb4645c.jpg

Now unfortunately, I have deleted my backup file that had the old patch file in it, so now I am totally unable to start RO at all.

If anyone can please pm me a copy of a working patch file I would appreciate it.

This was one of the original problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've fixed it, I had to jump through the hoops of diabling my UAC and re-installig the basic AI's.

To temporarily disable UAC on your OS:

Steps:
1. Open up Control Panel
Now, there's two ways, easy and hard.
Easy:
2. Search "uac"
3. Click on "User Account Control Settings"
4. Type in your password.
5. Drag the slider all the way down and save it.
Hard:
2. Click "System and Security"
3. Click "Action Center"
4. Look on the left sidebar and click "Change User Account Control Settings"
5. Type in the password
6. Drag the slider to the bottom and save.

The C_is_steam error indicates that the patcher isn't properly updated. It should have created a file called patchup.exe in your RO folder, and it's supposed to have run it, but it didn't. Run that file as admin, and that should stop the C_is_steam error.

As for the view angle, I think the correct solution involves fiddling with the file Axylus suggested - though UAC may interfere with this if it is enabled.

I have, always do, & am running as Admin.

I also need the "patchup" file if someone can please send me that.

I was able to get it by doing an update, on Classic separately, even though were not supposed to have to anymore.
