Santa is apparently bugged, or at least sUckZ^2 claims he is. Though in fact he's standing right on top of Santa's spot by the fountain on his pecopeco mount, and he refuses to move. Bug unverified as a result.

Santa was a 1 day event, the GMs have disabled the NPC but haven't removed the automatic server broadcasts.

Santa was only in town from late at night on xmas eve until evening of the 26th. (almost 2 days, though he said he was only there for one to instill the appropriate sense of urgency)
Announcements were also made prior to his being removed. Unfortunately the announcements saying he was here didn't stop.
