At +9, the GT beats the RWC + Ring vs small, RWC+Ring wins by small margin vs medium, and by a large margin vs large. RWC knife without ring gets completely dominated by GT. Considering the difference in cost, this is rather disappointing for fans of the RWC weapons. They really shine at +12 when paired with accessory...
Both are lvl 4 weaps at +9, and neither of them modify str/dex/luk so we can drop out satk while comparing them; we end up comparing:
180 watk
vs
50 watk + ([9/3]*20+9*10) eatk -> 50 watk + 150 eatk + 10% physical
Now assume 100 str...
180*1.5 = 270
270 vs small
135 vs large (ouch!)
vs
((50*1.5=)75+150)*1.1 = 225*1.1 = 247.5 vs small
((25*1.5=)37.5+150)*1.1 = 187.5*1.1 = 206.25
Now let's enchant the grimtooth, and card the RWC knife.
You get 42 atk from enchants on GT:
312 vs small
242 vs medium
172 vs large
And 27.5 atk from hillslion card (assuming you're going for general use weapon - 25*1.1)
275 vs small
254 vs medium
233.75 vs large
Without the ring, those numbers would be:
209 vs small
188 vs medium
166.75 vs large
At +12:
With Ring:
330
309
288.75
Without:
231 vs small
210 vs medium
188.75 vs large
Hence, even at +12, the GT is better than the RWC knife w/out ring, except by small margin vs large targets.
