You know, I was really happy when I got my first reputation point - I worked really hard and it felt like my words were finally heard and that I was actually now a part of the active forum community.
Anyway, I would just like to raise more awareness on the little green arrow on the bottom right corner of a post. Clicking it makes both you and the recipient happy (though don't do this if the post is irrelevant or just simply not good)

Yeah, we removed the downvote option for much the same reason that Facebook doesn't have one.

Good thing you weren't around when negative red arrows were around. They could be depressing but at the same time sometimes they were hilarious.
Anyway, welcome to the community
I don't remember the guys name, but it almost became a game for one of the people who had his negative reputation reset to 0, only to get it extremely high in the red again. I remember Oda even made a forum game around it, stating that his reputation needed to hit negative (x) in order for something to be in the next update or something like that.
But yeah, negative rep was removed because people abused it with alt forum accounts.

It was removed because people were using alt accounts to spam negative votes, tbh if you are gonna disagree with someone you should explain why and not just huehuehue *click noobtard* and also not be granted an insane amount of down votes or w/e a day

you shouldn't really concern yourself too much with the whole reputition thingie. you get way more positive attention for snarky comments on the main forum than for actually contributing to the community.
it doesn't do anyone any good.

I can't even remember who it was who was being downvoted so much back in the early days of this board. Pretty sure there's a person or two here who would take their place if downvoting was re-enabled though.

I do have to say, those days were pretty funny though. On the occasion he actually did post something useful, he still ended up with -50 rep. My favorite was Scientistic. He used to get down-repped a lot because of the way he worded things, but I enjoyed his posts.

Sometimes I don't know what you all can and can't see. For instance, on the left underneath the post count I see how many times a user has been warned and... I would hope that's not something everyone can see, but it just looks so normal at this point that I have no idea.
