Alright, I'm considering making a Gx but there are a few things I don't understand about the class.

1. What kind of weapon do you need to level up/farm with? I personally will never have the time or patience to get myself a kvm weapon, I have other characters that would get something like that before a random alt xD

2. What is the current build everyone levels up with/farms things with? Back in the day I remember everyone going bananas over ice picks and turtle island/soul destroying fools etc so my knowledge of everything is ancient history according to today's standards

3. If you stated a build, what kind of gears would I need? D: please don't be billions upon billions

Thank you if you gave some feed back :D I owe you a bj no homo

Uh, RC is our only viable AOE* skill for mobbing and fast killing. Taking that into account...

1) Any katar that you can get your hands on (people often use hunter fly carded jurs, elemental katars, anything really that'll help you kill faster). For general purposes, a Durga or Wild beast claw (you can enchant it in malangdo) is probably your best bet. I wouldn't recommend DD for leveling but if you want to try it, who are we to stop you. :P

2) Sticking to the hbp bonuses is in general a good idea. so 90 agi/vit/str/luk with some dex mixed in is good (RC needs dex to hit, I usually start with 40 dex first then add more if I feel I need it). Note that I put the stats in order of what I would get to 90 if I would level a gx now, learn from my mistakes. :v

3) Uh, no idea about your budget, but something along the lines of: HBP, Variants, WPH+Alarm/Rudolph/Fish in mouth/RWH (if you go for hunter fly cards, you will need pots with the rwh in sticky situations or just fwing away? idk how you play), elemental armors (Nab's with fs enchants is good, "easy" to get can be time consuming tho, I often use glit jackets cause I didn't have money at that time). If you have hp consumables to spare, a +7 Drooping alicel would be awesome. You can always swap headgear to adjust to any situation tho. BDM can be pricey for mid, I still can't find my dark pingu sunnies, that is also an option for mid. For lower headgear, pirate dagger, gangster scarf, the lucky clover, basically whatever you can afford. :x

For accessories, Rogue's Treasure, Bradium Brooch, Assassin cuff, Vesper core 04, same as low and mid headgear, whatever you can afford and whatever will help you stay alive/level. ._.

* You can use meteor storm/grimtooth but those are slow as hell to level with from my experience. ._. Didn't try venom splasher, I mean, from the RoR it seems fun but nothing more.

Thanks for the reply!

I was mostly concerned about the weapon really because I have absolutely no idea what is acceptable/viable

Hmm.. if your GX is brand new(as in just changed) then you can try getting a specialty jur and 4 x Hunterfly cards and earth petite nab armor(the card which restores SP per skill) and you can just go off to nogg to grind AND farm. HBP will help you save time picking up loots while the Hunterfly + Petite card keeps your HP/SP bars always full. You can use rudolf or something like that as a back-up. Other gears you can use are..(for moderate attack/defense) Variant shoe and 2xNab Rings. (they give 20 atk and are good for players with limited budget. The only thing expensive is HBP and hunterfly cards..

So you don't have to have a KVM katar to make it in the GX life? I have funding for sure but I don't want to grind away at a kvm weapon

Not really..If you don't have any other use Eden Merit Badges other than getting reset stones from it, you can use the EMBs to get the KVM badges for the KvM weapon. (Don't trade EMBs for KvM badges if getting reset stones is major income to you.)

Actually KvM weapon is not much needed early in GX play. If you do have it,it helps but not compulsorily.

Other than that, just use Wild Beast Claw(enchanted and HF carded) or Durga or the specialty jur with 4 HF cards if you're planning to solo low TI or grind at nogg.
