I have not played alot this last year and there have been some changes.
I have never played a defiler, yet... But got a Mystic & Tempest in their 50's and will run some tests to see who is faster.
But the tempest used to be the fastest one, and also the easiest ^^
Will post result here after awhile....

mb he meant like overall dmg dealt to 4 mobs(or however many wl aoe can hit) so if he crits like 4k x 4 = 16k idk

This carries with it the lack of recognizing that I referred to a single AoE, when in fact I could do 5 back to back no-cast-time AoE's. Damage always carries with it a metric of time. dps originally meant damage per second. Now it is used ubiquituously to mean a damage dealer in Requiem. How fast I can deal damage is absolutely a factor in determining the prowess of a class.
warlords are awesome... and yes that has correlation to the thread.

Warlords do burst dmg while the caster counterparts do Damage over Time which adds up to a lot more then what a warlord can do. Making the casters classes a far better choice when talking about AOE classes. Yes warlords can atk more then 1 target but their effective ends once all are used & they are forced to pewpew 1 guy till their CDs are down. Unlike casters who have a continuous stream of atks going nonstop.

yes, that would be contingent on a number of factors, however it is entirely possible to kill a caster with a couple of WL AoE's. (geared right, knows wtf they're doing obv)

The difference is not in the damage output, per se. Caster's have better immobilizers. WL have trouble getting to you and maintaining a proximity to you. Thus the dps of a caster has more time to take effect while the WL is trying to get in your range. If that WL does get you within their effective range of you, you might get a mudhole stomped in your a-- .... just sayin'

As a Warlord I don't spend time running from casters. I spend time chasing them... there's a reason for that.

Besides, everyone loves WL buffs, but nobody wants to make one QQ

also, kiting at-level groups of mobs while waiting for dps to wear them out is not my cup of tea.

I'm pretty sure we were talking about grind and dps on mobs in general. If wl started same time as defiler with attacking mobs wl cannot in. In the beginning yes the damage may spike but over time the defiler will have the higher average damage

lol Temps & Defilers both have CCs that prevent their targets from attacking. Most dont need pots. Mystics are the only ones that actually tank their mobs but we have spells to help us do that.

lol wish i ever used pots in grind...i have this cool pot called lesser heal which i can cast while running and sometimes it heals me close to 3k hp...every 3 sec

Defiler is the best aoer, reason, have more aoes.
