I would like recommendations on the best skill build for leveling a Warlock, along with which stats to focus on first, or whether I should build them up together.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I don't just mean Job 3 Skills either. I was going to do a full reset since I just did the job change & am at level 99. I'm pretty sure CR is the first skill to do for Job 3 & the Comet Build is best since I am helping a person that's new with little zeny.

All the skills I use as warlock: SP REcovery 10, Safety Wall, Mystic Amp, Soul Drain, Storm Gust, Frost Nova, Meteor Storm, Quagmire, Radius, Reading Spellbook, Crimson Rock, Recognized Spell lv 1, White Imprison lv 1.

Everything else is pretty much fluff.  Chain Lightning would be amazing if not for the hitlock when it's bouncing, and Jack Frost would be great if it actually did damage.  I'd use comet but 800 sp makes it very difficult to justify its use.  Tetra would be good at high level for fighting bio mobs or low level mvp's.

I found a build from a previous post last year. I don't know if this is still good:

I would think SP Recovery should be Lev 10 though & the 3 points be removed from something else if possible.

That build is outdated, frost misty sucks for inflicting freezing status, freezing spellbook at level 2 will not give you access to 2 comets stored (which is the whole point of getting comet, to release and not cast it; if you want to store 2 comets, you need reading spellbook at level 5 since you won't be level 150, at level 150 you can have reading spellbook 4 for 2 comets), recognize spell only needs to stay at level 1. You could take out points in JT (CL replaces it basically), cold bolt (storm gust basically is the water spell to use) and put them somewhere else.

Fill in the blanks with whatever skills you'd like to have from this: http://irowiki.org/~...naBqnaOebdo1db1

Thanks for the info. I thought Jack Frost was good to have. Are you just saying Frosty Mist isn't needed other than the Preq? It appears as though there are a lot of unused skill points that still remain.

Which are the best for leveling? PVM, TI's is all.

Jack Frost isn't too great.  Even when I take points for it, I rarely use it over SG or frost nova.  It does crappy damage, so the only reason to use Jack is freezing, but SG1/FN are much better.

The thing that ruins Jack Frost as a crowd control ability is that it will still hit frozen targets, so anything already frozen will break free if you use it again.  In most TI's, you have a stream of mobs flowing on your screen, so you'll have to constantly be freezing stuff - you'll end up defaulting to SG anyway since you can spam it without unfreezing everything.

It was good when Frost Misty worked, and could be relied on for damage, but since the balance patch, it's really not that useful.  Skip it unless you're getting Tetra.

For damage in parties, pretty much released SG/Crimson/Comet all the way.  Meteor with release/strings can be good with salamander card/crimson set.

I have a question: My wiz is ready for rebirth, so should I follow the warlock build from high novice or use the pre-trans build to level then reset my stats and skills right before changing to warlock? Btw I'm looking for builds that do great in TIs and possibly able to solo.

The stat build for high wizard going into warlock is what I'd follow (since honestly there aren't many places you can screw up since you just need INT/VIT), and I would go for whatever build you want in terms of skill until you hit level 99/70. The leveling build as a high wizard including LoV 10, SG 10, etc. makes things a lot easier to level than just straight out following the build into a warlock. Once you hit 99/70 though, go talk to the Hypnotist in the middle of Prontera with 0 weight and he'll reset your skills for free which you should do before job changing into a warlock.

This is the stats I had when I used to solo right after 3rd class was launched...

Hope it helps.

Okay~ I think I got a general idea. Thanks!

So, the Hypnotist in Prontera only resets skills? Does he resets the stats as well?

I was one of the first 3 or so Warlock to reach 150 lol... so no time to party xD

Hmm... my comet damage was always high (as people can tell in WoE =P)... I think I have some more screenies...
