Please help. I haven't played for about 5 months, I've tried Patchup.exe (as admin, non-steam version), when it tries to download some files named "Steam" it said "Failed to write" as the picture shown below

 

"Play" button appeared. I clicked it but it said "Ragnarok.exe is changed" and everything is restart

This time it said "failed to write {Steam stuff} again but when I click "Play" button it pops up an error

 

I also tried running "Ragnarok.exe" but it closed itself automatically every time when it tries to write ...... Steam file?

Delete patchup.exe and run Ragnarok.exe (as admin).

 

It will not get a failed to write this time and should patch successfully. Then run patchup.exe as admin. 

 

That should do it. Failing that delete patchup and ragnarok and download the new ragnarok.exe from http://drazzy.com/patch/Ragnarok.exe

 

What's happening is that the patcher dowloaded patchup, but didn't succeed on that batch of patches, so patch.inf is on a pre-Steam update, so when you run patchup, it tries to patch first, but it can't, because it's running as patchup, and hence can't write patchup. As for why it can't write that when running Ragnarok.exe, that's not clear to me. 

 

 

Also, your image host sucks. I got about half of the first image and a tiny bit of the second on the first device I viewed them on. Now on my computer, the images aren't loading at all.

I have done what DR-AZZY recommended. not work. patchup.exe the file no longer exists and I have downloaded the new ragnarok.exe but did not change the problems.

Failed to write file on repacking resource files indicates that you have open RO game clients (which you presumably started via 1rag1) - close those, and reboot if that fails (something has grabbed data.grf and didn't let go). 

 

PLEASE, do not follow instructions I give people unless you get the exact same error message. An error titled "Failed to write" with "patchup.exe" in the body of the error message is totally different from an error titled "Error" with the text "Failed to write file".
