Went to the Deviruchi NPC in Nifflheim with a magical stone to reset, nothing happens. Is there a different way to do it? Do I need different items? Or is the wiki referring to referral renewel yet again?

You can only reset them on Renewal.
We did have an option to reset them from Santa Clause Christmas week, though, so maybe it will happen again.
