It's quite hard to play from Windows 8.
Please search on forums, we do have few members posting few Topics about how to make it work.

Are you using Internet Explorer 11? One sec while I find where the Facebook version installs to.
Alright so we are going to add an exception for the application in Windows Defender to allow it to access the internet. Here are the steps to do this.
1. Search for "firewall" in the Windows 8 Start Menu
2. Click on Settings option
3. Click on Windows Firewall
4. Click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows firewall" in the Windows Firewall window.
5. Click "Change Settings"
6. Click "Allow another app..."
7. Click the "Browse" button
8. You will look for the Requiem.exe file in the system folder of your Requiem Install directory
By default the directory for the facebook version is "C:\Users\[User Account]\AppData\Roaming\Kalydo\KalydoPlayer\content\apps\RequiemFacebook\System_Kalydo\requiem.exe"
Remember that you are looking for your specific Users account.
9. Close the window.
10. Restart your computer.
