FIXED - shortcut was not designated

Hey guys!

 

Recently, I re-installed my Windows 7. With it being completely empty, of course I had to install RO all over again. Ever since, my enter key won't work ingame. I can't enable or disable the chat bar, I can't send a message or / -command and whatever else can be done with the enter key. Every other key works fine, the keyboard is unlikely broken, in every other context the enter key works just fine.

 

I tried manually patching and uninstalled, downloaded and installed the game again - without results. Yes, all in administrative mode. Both times freshly downloaded, the patcher gave me that C_IsSteam error, I solved it as suggested in the respective thread - might that still be the cause?

 

Any further suggestions?

 

Edit: Oh, and it's really ingame only - during the screens where you enter your character-ID and the character selection, it's still working

What IME do you use?

 

I've found that, when I have mine set to Japanese input, several of my keys have no function when playing RO. At times I just subconsciously flick it over to Japanese from English without realising it, and then wonder why some of my skill hotkeys don't work :v

German.. But I just tried English, didn't work either... But enter is the same on them, anyways

Aaaah, nevermind - I found it. In the ingame shortcut menu, there's this field for the chat bar, the shortcut for it was not designated. Fixed!

Not knowing how this happened, I don't think reporting it is the right step at this point. But I'm glad to have seen this, I know what I'll tell people to check if anyone else has this issue.

Haha, no, I meant reporting the thread so a mod sees it can be closed.

 

Yeah, that's why I did not change the original message, in case someone has the same problem and finds this. I don't like when people have problems, fixed them, but never tell how they did it or even delete the original question....
