Patcher for some reason wasn't able to execute patchup and complete the update of the patch client.

To complete it:

Exit all RO clients and patchers. Open the RO folder.

On Windows XP: Double click Patchup (or Patchup.exe, depending on folder view settings).

On Vista/7/8: Right-click Patchup, and choose 'Run as Administrator' and give approval if prompted.

RO will now work normally.

For future reference, use CCleaner . It is a free program that cleans unwanted disk space and can fix registry errors. :)

Isn't CCleaner the one that also breaks RO's patching? I thought I heard it would sometimes think that it should delete patch.inf when "cleaning up"...

Hm. Someone said it did *shrug*

It's not inconceivable, since .inf is the extension windows uses for drivers, and CCleaner might be trying to tidy up unused drivers?

Could be the "Wipe Free Space" and "Custom Files and Folders" under the Advanced section of the "Windows" Tab...Maybe that person ticked something he/she wasn't supposed to?:X
