Hi,

I'm always wary during Wednesday maintenance. Then again, my premonition became true.

After today's maintenance (3/26), i couldn't connect to RO.

Keep saying "Failed to connect to file server".

I can connect to the patch server ( "ftp://patch1.playragnarok.com/") using google chrome. No Problem at all.

But when i ran RO patcher, it keeps saying "failed to connect to file server" when attempting to connect to file server.

Any help??

Thanks.

Never mind this thread.

I can connect fine after the sixth try.

Thanks.

Doesn't matter if chrome can open it.

Had you tried in IE, it would have failed several times, then eventually sorted itself out. (It's a DNS issue - Gravity still hasn't figured out how to use DNSSEC correctly. Gravity's tech team is terribad).

You can add it to HOSTS, (but you have to remember that if it fails in the future, it could be due to an IP change that you'd need to correct for in HOSTS - if you forgot, and asked for support, nobody would think to suggest checking HOSTS)

One technique I use on computers that I haven't done the HOSTS hack on is to open the FTP site in IE, and pound F5 until it loads, and then you can go over to the patcher and it'll run.
