Greetings Asgardians Normans,

6IF1hCT.png

It's your old pal, The Riddlerok, and have I got an event for you.

April Fools, a time to fool people with lame tricks and pranks. In the spirit of the day, I will be hosting a month-long lame riddle event. Every day this month, I will release one of the many lame riddles I have collected from here and there over the years. The first person to answer the riddle will recieve one million zeny. This will only apply to Renewal, as I am unable to give a reward out on classic.

Each riddle will be open for 24 hours. Attempts to answer the riddle before the opening time or after the closing time will not count, even if correct. The first post by time/date will win the prize. Be careful editing posts, I will count post date by last edit (if applicable). If your post was first but you edit your post after someone else has posted, they may be awarded the prize instead of you.

There is to be no cheating. No looking up on google, other search engines, wikipedia or some book by Kochie, or anything else. Answers are only to be attempted using your own wit. This will rely on the honor system. Besides, they'll all be really simple. This is basically a giveaway!

I try my best not to be ambiguous in my questioning but if you have an answer that I did not expect but I see as sufficiently amusing whilst still answering the question, I will award the prize.

The final rule: I am a supervillain. Anything I say goes, if you think I am being unfair in my assessment or enforcement of rules during this event. Too bad.

The Winners List:

Spoiler

The first riddle will be released at 7:00 AM PDT on April Fools' Day.

Day 1

Ragnarok Online is one of the few MMOs that allow full customization of stats. As such, people have had to plan their stats based on the many formulae in the game. I believe RO players have in general better arithmetic than other MMO players. But enough about that, onto the question.

The first, is a really easy one.

If it takes six people, six days to dig six holes; how long does it take one man to dig half a hole?

To give people in other time zones a better chance, the next riddle will be set at 3:00PM PDT on the 2nd of April.

Simply math...six people, six days, six holes

Therefore it takes one person, one day, to dig one hole.

One day is 24 hours. Half of that is 12

Therefore, one person will spend 12 hours (or half a day) digging half a hole.

You can't dig half a hole. As soon as you take out the  first shovel-full, you have a whole hole.

Day 2

Detective Jason Koerperich has brought in Daniel McNeill for questioning regarding a hidden contraband cache. At first McNeill was very uncooperative. After some persuasion, Detective Koerperich finally got McNeill to talk. McNeill stated that detailed instructions to the cache were hidden in a book he keeps in a bookshelf somewhere in his home between pages 69 and 70. However, he had only recently changed the location of the instructions and had focused so much on remembering what pages the instructions were hidden between he had forgotten which book he had hidden them in. Koerperich's patience running dry yelled "you're lying to me!"

What is the basis of Koerperich's accusation?

The next riddle will be a morning one.

LOL Kehei! Heim and Doddler eh?

Jason is accusing Daniel of lying because pages 69 and 70 are on the same paper. Page 69 is the front and page 70 is the back, so there cannot be a "between" of those two pages.

It's not in a book at all.

What about those fun books with the odd numbers on the left page and the evens on the right, happens very rarely but when you got an odd number of roman pages it sometimes does happen...   :heh:

I'm feeling really lazy today so I'll just throw in a easy common one. Don't cheat. The next one will be an afternoon one.

Day 3

This is a most unusual paragraph. How quickly can you find out what is so unusual about it? It looks so ordinary you'd think nothing was wrong with it - and in fact, nothing is wrong with it. It is unusual though. Why? Study it, think about it, and you may find out. Try to do it without coaching. If you work at it for a bit it will dawn on you. So jump to it and try your skill at figuring it out. Good luck - don't blow your cool!

Remember, no googling etc, only use your wits.

Day 4

You are standing in an (almost) empty room. There are a few things laying around the room; a small magnet, a hand mirror, a cow clip, some shoelace and a wooden six-inch measuring stick (ruler). There is also a vertical pipe attached to the floor. The pipe is roughly one foot long. Its diameter is small, slightly larger than a ping-pong ball. In fact there is a ping pong ball stuck at the bottom of the pipe. Using only what is currently available, how could you recover the ping-pong ball (without harming its condition)?

Side-note: Presenting, the cow clip:
