Day 7 (Note: Day 6 is still open until 3:00PM PDT)
Daniel McNeill was found unconscious lying on the pavement in front of a jewellery store. Detective Jason Koerperich arrived and began questioning witnesses as the amublance crew were tending to McNeill who had head injuries. When McNeill awoke, Koerperich arrested him. McNeill had no prior convictions and had not confronted or even spoken to anyone before the incident. Why did Koerperich arrest McNeill?
--ADDENDUM--
Daniel was only a decoy to turn everyone's attention towards him, while his stealthy partner in crime could rob the jewelry store??
The store did not report any missing items that day.

He's a magician, not a witch!

Magic isn't real.

Well, he said hands not paws, I don't think he'd make a rookie error like that if he was a magic dog!

Because telling lies is a crime and McNeill was guilty of it. He claimed to have walked on his hand on a cement pavement, when all the pavements there are made of concrete (answer to#6). And when some dude found out about it, he probably smashed McNeill's head. #justice

It has nothing to do with the jewellery store.
It's because Detective Jason Koerperich wants to bring Daniel McNeill in "for questioning regarding a hidden contraband cache!!!" **Reference to day 2**
(although you said no prior convictions... oh well, just giving it a shot :v)

It was Billy Lau (the great magician) who claimed to have walked down the pavement, not Daniel McNeill. But I will accept that as the answer to Day 6.

I like your answer.
Unfortunately it's not the one I was looking for though =/

Why would you lie about walking on one hand instead of two, that would be even more impressive!

He was being careless and ran into the storefront window, headbutting it with great force and breaking it (thus the head injury and subsequent arrest).

I like your answer, however Rotine has already claimed the prize. Cement is an ingredient in concrete which the pavements are made of. They are not made of pure cement. He cannot walk on cement pavements because they do not exist.

While he was unconscious, he was obstructing the passage for pedestrians.
