Just made a Monk through the jump event and was wondering what kind of stats I should I apply. Using my RO1 knowledge I added about 30 strength so far and nothing else. Do RO1 builds apply to RO2? STR/INT/VIT? STR/AGI/INT?

RO2 stats are handled pretty differently compared to RO1 --

I guess you're new to RO2 if you're using RO1 for judgement? First thing to note is that most of your stats come from gear, so the end result won't change much unless you stack up. Then there's this table:

Dunno how people are distributing their stats now, but I believe Spiritual Cadence has been rendered pretty much useless for Monks so there's no point getting INT. That's all I can say, really. I'm sure a VCR would be better help :heh:

So dumping everything into strength would do nothing for me?

Uhh  - you just won't see as big a difference compared to dumping stats in RO1. It does help in the Colosseum though, where your gear stats are standardised.

I'm not an expert at Monks, so you might want to wait for an up-to-date Monk player to comment.

I'm 60% AGI and 40% STR since the last balance patch, because the stats really don't make that much of a difference I haven't reset my stat points, yet. AGI for more dodge/crit, and STR for more hit/dmg.

STR will improve your damage a bit, so go for that. You can also mix around with AGI and some VIT, but there really isn't an optimized combination yet.

Last I've played I was full AGI and it still works somehow.

I see. Well I have 30 Strength so far so I will try dumping an equal amount into AGI and balance it out. Doesn't sound like stats are as crucial as they are in RO1.

Most stats you get will come from your gear. The stats you add and runes don't make a huge difference. For monk it's really up to you what you choose to add. STR will give you Hit and a little attack power, AGI gives Crit and Dodge, and VIT gives HP and Defense. So I'd focus on one of those 3.

I reset my stats to 275 STR but there isn't a significant increase in damage. I also lost a lot of dodge doing so; went from about 5800~5900 to 5300. Gained 250~300 hit though. The trade off is about 500 dodge/ 250crit for ~1k-2k asura damage and 300ish more hit.
