In all the mmos I've played rare/boss monsters drop things that are rare and valuable. Now I know DS is trying to do it's own thing and be outside the social norm, but in all honesty there are some things that should just be kept that way. Rare monsters should drop more valuable items, maybe a chance of getting any classes set pieces (correlating with the monsters level of course), backs, drastically increase the gold they drop or weapon powders. Otherwise there's little to no point of them being in the game other than a few quests. Quite frankly they're not rare at all as people usually ignore them. Now for boss monsters I feel now the way I did when barunson first took out skill forges; there was no point, it greatly in creases the gaps between older players and newer players, and it affects the market. Now I personally am willing to look away on the matter if the time limit on hidden maps were removed, which serves no other purpose than to stop people from fighting over boss drops, which in and of itself is a normal part of any mmorpg. However, since bosses don't even drop their personal items anymore it is, for a lack of a better term, stupid.

I agree on the general idea, but I feel like set pieces are easy enough to get. Everything else, however, rings true; more G, more powders, uniques (old or new), back gear (maybe unique back gear?), SOMETHING to make these bosses worth our time and effort. Otherwise the developers are squandering an opportunity to make this game great. SO WHAT if people argue a little about drops, or it affects the markets a bit. Though it may be difficult to anticipate gameplay irregularities given certain 'uniques' and their stats, new items in a market creates more demand and encourages spending, which is beneficial to the market as a whole. Removing content that made sense is not the best way to set yourself apart from others. "Look everyone, I'm so different and cool because I'm not wearing any pants" isn't the best way to make friends or run a business.

I totally agree with you too.

Even though, actually, I know about only one Rare Monster that drops an unique item, and its drop-rate isn't that high.

In THQ version if i'm not wrong, there was a NPC that would give you quests to hunt these Rare-Monsters.

These Rare Monsters used to have a drop rate of like 50% Weapon Powder too, in the old THQ version, since everybody would hunt one, exactly to get the powder.

Now.. Rare Monsters can be just considered like normal monsters, since they only drop gold, and some, or only one, drops the Unique Item I said.
