Can somebody help me?

I'm from Germany and wanted to play Dragon Saga again but they closed the European servers...

I downloaded it and i got so much problems... they are all fixed and i think it's almostly working now, but their's a new problem...

When i click "START GAME" there's a white screen and a window with the text: "DX9-Renderer Initialization failed.Try to reboot your computer", pops up every time!

I already tried to:

Re-Install DirectX Player.

Change "fullscreen value" from 0 to 1, 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 in the config.

Rebooted about 5 times.

Does somebody know what to do?

For me this is the DragonSaga forum.

What Windows version do you have (7, 8, 8.1)? What type of computer? Desktop or Laptop/Notebook?

You could try to re-install the DirectX 9 Runtimes.

You can get them here: http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35

Please let me know, if it works. If not, we can try to investigate where your problem comes from.

Greetings from Germany,

Yuri

Hi,

sorry, but I never talk on teamspeak. I don't even own a headset. I'm a kind of oldtimer with that. I talk the old way - with my keyboard  :heh:

You're problem sounds strange to me.

You can try to go to your DragonSaga installation folder in the subfolder "Release" and just delete the whole "config.xml" file.

Don't worry about that, DragonSaga will rewrite it when starting.

If you want to talk german, we should move to the DragonSaga International forum or continue to talk via PM.

Greets,

Yuri

Btw. did you play "Dragonica" on the EU-servers with the gPotato client before? That would make the problem a bit more strange.

Are you using Windows 8/8.1? I heard about problems with Windows 8.X.

Did you try to start the game as Administrator?

That's the second time I hear about that problem, but I can't really understand the problem,

Did you ever try to install the game in another folder or with another target name?

Normally this problem occurs if the game does not find it's resource files.

Edit: Please have a look into the folder "Release" and then "Log"->"Exception"...

please delete all the files, start the game and after the crash please look into it again.

Is there any file available then?

If you use my installer from the DragonSaga International section, you can re-install over and over again, because it does not delete the setup-files after the installation. They are stored in the folder you are selecting first.

From there you can run the installer as often as you want.

http://forums.warppo...nglish-systems/

The only thing that takes too much time is the patching after the installation.

If you've reinstalled and it still continues to crash, please have a look into the folder I told you in my last post.

"Release"->"Log"->"Exception" and tell me if there's something in it. :-)

Well i will look for it..

If i can't get it to work.. i download your client tonight..

My internet is just a "little" slow.. 45kb/s so it needs much time :D

There are 100mb left for the media.cab data, so about 40 minutes ^^

Okay, I'm here and will look into this topic from time to time...

And be sure to  install into another folder. Sounds strange I know, but it's worth a try.

Some Information would be very interesting for me:

You said you've a new PC. May I ask what CPU and what Graphics Card you have now?

Graphiccard is a Geforce 550 GTX Ti

Intel Core 2 Quad Cpu 4Ghz

I play new games on best graphics so i think its not because of the needings of Dragonica ^^

No it's not because of the needings of DragonSaga.

I had more sorrows that your hardware could have been too new and it would be lead to incompatibilities.

But that seems not to be a problem.

Okay, then we wait until you've reinstalled it to another folder and - if the crashing continues - you took a look into the "Log" folder :-)

No problem. When I go to sleep later, I'll look into here tomorrow morning, ok?

While you are waiting, for the guy in this thread http://forums.warppo...the-philippines

the "another folder" solution worked. He had the same problem as you.

Are the EXP rates the same like in Dragonica?
Because my friend uninstalled your Client because he said he got level up after 3 mobs and had extremely overpowered items... so he thought it is a p-server and deinstalled it...?

That has to do with the level 1 gear event (that is already requested to end), in EU this event has been cancelled after people complained about it in masses.

The gameplay normalized at about Lvl. 30. You get a "mist elf" like set and a "lavalon" like weapon but they are slightly weaker than the original ones.

The problem is, that this event lasted already too long (about 1 year or so) ... but we all hope, that the development team will remove it in the near future.

I can assure you, this is the last OFFICIAL server and not a p-server.

Btw, every weekend  here is an XP event (see http://www.playdrago...ail.aspx?id=437), so the XP rates are a bit higher also.

I know people get confused about this.
