I know. And I'm sure that people were grumbling when they came, saying they actually had to work hard for the over-upgraded items they had, and now people are able to get those over-upgrades with a lot less effort. I feel the same, only the work I'm talking about is real manual labor in exchange for cash (my job). I do more hunting than buying still, but if there were no safe to 7 certs, I would have bought all of my stuff with zeny, not cash. But since I have spent real money on items, you can't blame me for not wanting them to disappear just to stabilize the market.
The problem with this server, and just about any game that has a "cash shop" is that eventually, items offered in the shop give an edge to those that can spend money on the game. With this, you already are giving an advantage to those with a higher income than to those that can't afford to buy anything. I'm in a place now where I can spend $30 per month on the game. Maybe a bit more (like $100) when a "really cute" headgear comes out in a box. *glares at wife* But I cannot afford to buy 20 RWHs just to throw them all away. I may as well take $100 and throw it on the street, give it to charity or eat it for all the difference it'll make. I'd rather just take my car in and get an oil change and a radiator flush instead.
You know, I am the guild leader for my guild. And as much as I'd like to, I cannot participate in WoE. Even with the amount of money I'm spending on the game, it will still take me several years in order to become competitive enough to join in on the fun. Maybe even a decade. Who knows? But seriously, 5 years minimum for someone like me to be competitive in any kind of PvP format, and you want to take that from me when even the guild members IN WoE are begging for competition?
