Sometimes the patcher just pauses for some reason. Just close and reopen until you can click on the Start button.

Come back if you still can't get in after 15 tries.

Yeah it is. I tryed reinstalling the game a few times.. only resulted in the launcher bugging and suddenly i were unable to get back on this forum, had to reboot.. And now I'm just back to failed to get file

Open up IE (not some other better browser) and see if you can get to the RO website. If not, fix settings on IE such that you can. Also, make sure that you don't have any software firewall blocking the patcher.

Working fine in IE. I'm not using any firewalls of any sorts. Currently I'm downloading the game again to see if the torrent something up, status within the next 15 min tops.

If you downloaded via torrent, the file shouldn't be corrupted. Did you make sure to delete the RO folder each time you reinstall?

Yeah.. I've tried disabling all the modules in AVG, didn't work either. Hm. Rather annoying.

suddenly it started downloading files when i open the loader. However after downloading a few things i get a popup saying "Failed to write file - PatchClient\Thumbs.db" and the loader says "failed to unpack 2010-10-12data_gm.rgz file."

Oh damn, what was the trick to fixing this?
The thumbs.db issue was known, but i thought that was fixed a while ago. Anyone wanna help me out here?

Thanks. Seriously, i can't belive they havn't removed thumbs.db from the file they're pushing out. That's ALL THEY'D HAVE TO DO, remove ONE FILE that should never have been there in the first place (it's the file windows creates to store image thumbnails, and is a hidden, system, read-only file)
