Hi everyone,

While playing ROSE recently I noticed that there are some gaps between new quests. For instance between levels 50-70, and especially from levels 60-70 there are really only the Krawfy and Doonga quests, but they are not that interesting and doing them over and over again is boring. Hence I figured there should be another interesting quest especially aimed at these levels. So therefore I present you such a quest.

I've tried to stick to Buffiies's style of presenting the quest (see his Valor Quest for Luna on http://forums.warppo...quest-for-luna/).

One note beforehand: I didn't recall all of the story of Rosemary and Selliot (i.e. the quest that enables you to use the ship to travel to new planets), so perhaps my quest is contradicting parts of that story arc. In that case the names of the girl and the father could easily be exchanged for other names (in that case, please see them as placeholders).

So here it comes:

Starting NPC: [Guide] Eva

[Guide] Eva

It can be pretty difficult to find your way around Junon Polis. Feel free to ask me if you feel a little lost.

1. I hear you may have a problem with stocking sufficient supplies and materials.

2. I want to know more about this city.

3. I want more information about this region.

4. I want to know more about your worrisome face.

Answer to option 4

[Guide] Eva

It’s no laughing matter. No laughing matter at all, <player’s name>. One of Junon’s young girls, Rosemary, is missing.

1. I see. Good luck with that.

2. I see. Is there anything I can do to help find her?

3. Geez – I was only trying to make small talk.

4. \care?

(Chat closes with options 1, 3 or 4)

Answer to option 2

[Guide] Eva

You could go talk to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth, who’s in charge of the search action.

1. Okay - I will.

2. I’m not that good at searching, let alone finding – better let someone else do the job!

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1. The following quest is added

Name:  The girl went missing (1)

Explanation: Some girl named Rosemary is missing. You promised [Guide] Eva to help finding her. [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth in City of Junon Polis is organizing a search action. You better talk to him.

Upon talking to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

All goods require my materials, so I’m proud of what I do.

1. I want to buy materials.

2. Oh, I see.

3. Inspector <player’s name> reporting for duty!

Answer to option 3.

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

Okay. Let’s see to what task you will be randomly assigned.
Ah I see – we will need you to question the clowns in Forest of Wisdom.

1. You are randomly assigning tasks?

2. In that case – let the girl be lost.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to option 1

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

Hmmm. You mean that it would be much smarter to first ask her father, Sellion, if he has any clue to her whereabouts before seemingly randomly killing monsters all over Junon.

1. Uh. Yeah, that should be what I meant.

2. No.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to option 1.

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

You really have put on your thinking hat, haven’t you? Okay, I will question Sellion. In the meanwhile we will stick to our initial plan: see if those clowns have any clue.

1. I have and I will.

2. I have and I won’t.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1. The quest is updated as follows

Name: The girl went missing (2)

Explanation: While [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth is questioning Rosemary’s father Sellion, you must question some of the clowns in the Forest of Wisdom.

Objective: Talk to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth when you have killed 35 clowns.

Upon talking to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth while NOT having killed enough clowns.

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

All goods require my materials, so I’m proud of what I do.

1. I want to buy materials.

2. Oh, I see.

3. Did you talk to Sellion?

Answer to 3

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

No, I didn’t find any time to leave my shop. Have you questioned those clowns in the Forest of Wisdom?

1. I’m on it!

Upon talking to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth after killing enough clowns

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

All goods require my materials, so I’m proud of what I do.

1. I want to buy materials.

2. Oh, I see.

3. The clowns had no clue!

Answer to 3

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

The others also did not find anything. So I better randomly assign you to a new task. Let’s see – your new task will be questioning Doongas in Kenji Beach.

1. Eh – have you talked to Sellion?

2. In that case, I stop helping you.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

Actually, I have. He said she likes playing with [Little Street Vendor] Pony, [Boy by the Car] Huey and [Little Street Vendor] Mile. But he’s already sailing to Adventure’s Plains so no need to worry about it for you.

1. But doesn’t Mile live in Breezy Hills?

2. Okay, I will worry no more – I don’t care any longer about Rosemary

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

Yes, you are right. [Little Street Vendor] Mile lives in Breezy Hills. However, Sellion will visit him eventually I think. For now I really think you should focus on those Doongas.

1. In that case I, myself, will visit Mile.

2. No, I won’t listen to you anymore.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

You really have put on your stubborn-hat, haven’t you? Do what you please. Perhaps someone else will help me.

1. Thanks for your support. I’m off to Mile.

2. I changed my mind. I don’t want to find Rosemary any more at all.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1. Quest is updated as follows.

Name: The girl went missing (3)

Explanation: [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth had found out Rosemary likes to play with [Little Street Vendor] Pony, [Boy by the Car] Huey in Adventure’s Plains and [Little Street Vendor] Mile in Breezy Hills. While Sellion is heading towards Adventure’s Plains, Kiroth wants you to kill Doongas. However perhaps it is better to question [Little Street Vendor] Mile in Breezy Hills?

Objective: Talk to [Little Street Vendor] Mile in Breezy Hills.

Upon talking to [Little Street Vendor] Mile in Breezy Hills

[Little Street Vendor] Mile

Have you ever been to the big city? I’m gonna move out to the big city when I grow up.

1. Hey kid, do you have any freshly picked fruit?

2. You’re right. Ever since I was born, I’ve known that I gotta live in the big city.

3. Well, good luck with that.

4. Do you know Rosemary?

Answer to 4

[Little Street Vendor] Mile

Of course I do. I like playing with her. She lives in the big city, you know.

1. Do you have any clue to where she might be now?

2. You are boring. I better stop talking to you now.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Little Street Vendor] Mile

Isn’t she in the big city? I was playing hide and seek with her and [Fruit Cart] Feuey a few days ago. I thought Feuey took her home. Didn’t he?

1. Unfortunately, he didn’t. Do you know where I can find Feuey?

2. Unfortunately, he didn’t. Otherwise I didn’t have to talk to you.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Little Street Vendor] Mile

Feuey? He lives on top of a hill in El Verloon Desort. Is he in trouble?

1. No, I’m just going to ask him if he knows anything about Rosemary.

2. No, because I’m too lazy to go there.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1. Quest is updated as follows

Name: The girl went missing (4)

Explanation: [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth had found out Rosemary likes to play with [Little Street Vendor] Pony, [Boy by the Car] Huey in Adventure’s Plains and [Little Street Vendor] Mile in Breezy Hills. While Sellion is heading towards Adventure’s Plains, Kiroth wants you to kill Doongas.  However you have gone to [Little Street Vendor] Mile to find out that supposedly [Fruit Cart] Feuey in El Verloon Desort had walked her home. You better talk with him first.

Objective: Talk to [Fruit Cart] Feuey in El Verloon Desort.

Upon talking to [Fruit Cart] Feuey

[Fruit Cart] Feuey

Hello <player’s name>, welcome to my fruit cart. What can I help you with?

1. Can I see what you have?

2. How do you know my name?

3. Nothing, but thanks.

4. You’ve played Hide and Seek with Mile and Rosemary, haven’t you?

Answer to 4

[Fruit Cart] Feuey

<player’s name>, did Mile tell you that I did?

1. Yes, Feuey, Mile did.

Answer to 1

[Fruit Cart] Feuey

Are we in trouble, <player’s name>? I know we weren’t supposed to be there,  <player’s name>, but we just were curious.

1. Where are you talking about?

2. You act strange. I hate talking to strange people.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Fruit Cart] Feuey

Oh, <player’s name>, then he didn’t told you where we were! Good. So, <player’s name>, if you don’t try to punish me, what are you here for?

1. Good question. I better leave now.

2. Rosemary went missing. You should’ve taken here home according to Mile.

(Chat closes with option 1)

Answer to 2

[Fruit Cart] Feuey

<player’s name>, <player’s name>, didn’t Mile himself took her home? I thought she was. I just left alone that day.

1. So you accidentally left her. Now you have to say where you were.

2. You are too obsessed with my name to talk to.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Fruit Cart] Feuey

<player’s name>, I think you are right. So, I will tell you. But, <player’s name> you must promise me not to tell anybody. I don’t want to be punished.

1. Okay.

2. What? You acted irresponsible. Of course you will be punished!

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Fruit Cart] Feuey

We were in Kenji Beach, <player’s name>. I think [Ferell Guild Merchant] Bith saw us. Perhaps he knows anything about Rosemary?

1. Thank you for your honesty. I will go talk to Bith now.

2. Thank you for nothing. You better fix this problem yourself!

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1. Quest is updated as follows.

Name: The girl went missing (5)

Explanation: Whereas [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth wants you to randomly kill Doongas to find Rosemary, you have chosen to take the smarter approach. [Fruit Cart] Feuey told you Rosemary was last seen playing hide and seek in Kenji Beach. Feuey suspects that [Ferrell Guild Merchant] Bith knows more about Rosemary’s whereabouts.

Upon talking to [Ferrell Guild Merchant] Bith

[Ferrell Guild Merchant] Bith

Although my stuff looks ordinary and commonplace, I assure you that they’re not easy to find around this beach.

1. I think you’re too confident about your goods.

2. I’m here to help!

3. Have you seen Feuey, Mile and Rosemary play hide and seek around here?

Answer to 3

[Ferrell Guild Merchant] Bith

Actually, yes, I have. I saw them running around across the beach earlier this week.

1. And you didn’t stop them?

2. Okay. Bye.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Ferrell Guild Merchant] Bith

Well. There are so many people around here, killing all those strong Krawfies and Doongas. It didn’t seem too dangerous to me.

1. Rosemary went missing.

2. I see. Have a good day.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Ferrell Guild Merchant] Bith

So Rosemary was last seen here?

1. Yes, she was. Noticed anything strange since then?

2. No, just kidding.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Answer to 1

[Ferrell Guild Merchant] Bith

Well, actually, those Doongas seem to have found something shiny. They are throwing it to each other. Perhaps you could catch it and see if it is of any help?

1. Thank you. I will.

2. No, I won’t – that’s too much of a hassle.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1. The quest is updated as follows.

Name: The girl went missing (6)

Explanation: Your `smarter’ approach has led you to kill Doongas to capture some shiny thing they are keeping. (Better not tell [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth that his random approach was in fact much faster.)

Objective: kill Doongas till you find the shiny object

*Player has to kill enough Doongas to find the shiny object* (I propose about 40-60 would be good)

Once the player has captured the shiny object the quest is updated as follows

Name: The girl went missing (7)

Explanation: You have found the shiny object on the Doongas. It turns out to be a camera. There is only one photo still on it. Perhaps you should visit that location?

(make the item clickable [like in the Luna part of the Hero Quest])

Picture: 2ivzdl0.png

Once the player goes to the correct location (Kenji Beach 5593,5469) there must be a pop-up saying `You have found Rosemary!’ the quest is then updated as follows

Name: The girl went missing (8)

Explanation: You have found the missing girl, Rosemary. You should take her to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth in the Junon Polis.

Once the player talks to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth after ‘obtaining’ Rosemary:

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

All goods require my materials, so I’m proud of what I do.

1. I want to buy materials.

2. Oh, I see.

3. I have found Rosemary.

Answer to 3

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

Wow. It really is Rosemary. So your brains actually managed to locate her. I’m glad Rosemary is finally safe. I’ll take care of Rosemary. Can you inform Sellion. [Little Street Vendor] Pony in Adventure’s Plains should know about his whereabouts.

1. Ok, Kiroth, I will.

2. Nah, Kiroth, I’ll stay here.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1, the quest ‘The girl went missing’ is deleted, the player is given some reward(s) [I think it’s good to give as much experience as needed to level about one to two levels, when about level 50-70]. A new quest is added:

Name: The girl’s father went missing (1)

Explanation: You have found Rosemary. You should find Selliot and tell him you have found his daughter. [Little Street Vendor] Pony in Adventure’s Plains should now where he is.

When talking to [Little Street Vendor] Pony

[Little Street Vendor] Pony

Don’t look down on me just because of my age. I’ve got a good understanding of changes in the market.

1. Okay, kiddo. Show me the fresh fruits you have today.

2. I see. I’ll come back later.

3. Selliot. Have you seen Selliot?

Answer to 3

He came here and talked to me a while ago. He was worried about my friend Rosemary I think and he then talked with our [Village Chief] Gray.

1. Thank you. I’ll go talk to Gray.

Chat closes with option 1, the quest is then updated as follows

Name: The girl’s father went missing (2)

Explanation: You should find Rosemary’s father Selliot and inform him his daughter has been found. [Little Street Vendor] Pony has pointed you in the direction of [Village Chief] Gray in Adventure’s Plain. You should go talk to him.

Upon talking to [Village Chief] Gray

[Village Chief] Gray

Welcome <player’s name>, something I can do for you?

1. Oh, nothing I was just walking around.

2. I hear you’re short on materials.

3. Have you seen Selliot around? I have found his daughter, Rosemary!

Answer to 3

[Village Chief] Gray

Yes, I have, unfortunately. Selliot came here a while ago, worried about his daughter Rosemary. He suspected she was in the Goblin Caves and convinced me to send some villagers with him in the Goblin Caves to retrieve her.

1. So, why are you saying ‘unfortunately’?

2. So, why are you saying anything to me?

(Chat closes upon option 2)

Answer to 1

[Village Chief] Gray

Only some moments ago one of the men came back badly injured. Their party was ambushed by some of the monsters in the caves. Someone should save them, but all of my men were in this party.

1. <player’s name>, to the rescue!

2. That seems like a problem.

(Chat closes upon option 2)

Answer to 1

[Village Chief] Gray

That would really help. Supposedly they have gathered at the far southern end of Goblin Cave (B1). Will you fight your way to them?

1. But of course I will.

2. But of course I won’t.

(Chat closes upon action 2)

Chat closes upon action 1 and the quest is updated as follows

Name: The girl’s father went missing (3)

Explanation: Selliot and Gray’s small army need to be rescued. According to Gray you should be able to find them at the far southern end of Goblin Cave (B1).

Upon finding them (location: 5519,5019) a message pops-up saying ‘you found Gary’s men (see quest explanation)’ the quest is updated as follows

Name: The girl’s father went missing (4)

Explanation: You have found Gray’s party, although Selliot is still missing. The men are all in bad shape and you should escort through the Goblin cave to [Village Chief] Gray. Doing so requires you to defeat the following monsters: Little Goblins (35), Goblin Tongs (20), Needle Bats (15), Jelly Beans (3).

Upon talking to [Village Chief] Gray, while having killed enough monsters:

[Village Chief] Gray

Welcome <player’s name>, something I can do for you?

1. Oh, nothing I was just walking around.

2. I hear you’re short on materials.

3. I have rescued your men.

Answer to 3

[Village Chief] Gray

Thank you very much. However, I notice that Selliot isn’t here.

(…)

Did you hear that, one of the men tells Selliot went to Goblin Cave (B2) on his own, while the rest of them stayed together in Goblin Cave (B1). Perhaps you can find Selliot in Goblin Cave (B2)? Killing some of the monsters can perhaps give you a hint to where he is?

1. Good idea. I’ll go in there once more and I will find him!

2. I didn’t care for him, really. So let him be.

(Chat closes with option 2)

Chat closes with option 1 and the quest is updated as follows

Name: The girl’s father went missing (5)

Explanation: Selliot should still be in the Goblin Caves. You should try to find Selliot in Goblin Caves (B2). Perhaps defeating the monsters in there could give you a clue?

*The player needs to go to Goblin Caves (B2) and kill the monsters in there. They should drop things like Selliot’s Watch, Selliot’s Headgear, Selliot’s Gauntlets, Selliot’s Shoes, Selliot’s Vest, Selliot’s Sword and Selliot’s Necklace. (for each additional item the player should kill about 5-10 monsters). After the player has gathered all the items there should be a message pop up saying You now better return to Gray. The quest is then updated as follows

Name: The girl’s father went missing (6)

Explanation: You have found many of Selliot’s clothing and items in Goblin Caves (B2). You better take them to [Village Chief] Gray.

Upon talking to [Village Chief] Gray

[Village Chief] Gray

Welcome <player’s name>, something I can do for you?

1. Oh, nothing I was just walking around.

2. I hear you’re short on materials.

3. I have found this in the Goblin Caves.

Answer to 3

[Village Chief] Gray

Hmm… I’m sorry to say, but your search for Selliot ends here.

1. What do you mean?

Answer to 1

[Village Chief] Gray

Well, either the monsters in Goblin Cave have killed Selliot and then took his armor or they have taken his armor while he was still alive. But there is no way Selliot could survive without all of his swords or armor in that cave. I think … Selliot died in there.

1. No way!

Answer to 1

[Village Chief] Gray

I’m very sorry, but there is nothing we can do. There is nothing you could’ve done. For now you must deliver this message to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth in Junon Polis.

1. Okay. I will.

2. No. I won’t deliver this kind of message.

(Chat closes upon option 2)

Chat closes upon option 1 and the quest updates as follows

Name: The girl’s father went missing (7)

Explanation: Gray convinced you Selliot is dead. There is nothing left to do but to deliver this message to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth in Junon Polis.

Upon talking to [Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

All goods require my materials, so I’m proud of what I do.

1. I want to buy materials.

2. Oh, I see.

3. Selliot is dead.

Answer to 3

[Ferrell Guild Staff] Kiroth

You have tried to find him in the Goblin Caves you’re saying? That’s a pretty rough place indeed. Well, there is nothing you could’ve done about it. At least Rosemary is safe. That’s what would’ve mattered most to Selliot. Thank you for all of your help.

1. I’m sorry for your loss and I’m glad I could help.

Chat closes upon option 1, the quest is deleted and the player is given some reward (I suggest given them enough experience to gain a level or two, when they are about level 50-70 and perhaps also some special jewelry or weapon?)

Wow! That is a long one, very detailed and nicely done. I do believe however that Rosemary died as related in the story by Alphonso. It would be easy enough to use another name however. For a reward, (other than xp), I would like to see something given that could really help in leveling/training. Something that would be really useful. Perhaps give a choice, so that the player can choose something suited to his/her class.
