Questions regarding this quest, for everyone's clarification

 

1. "An event quest with Captain Morgan will be sent to your mailbox in Prontera." - This means that the Mailbox is the NPC giving the quest or does it come in mail in the form of a Quest Starter item? Because I'm quite sure I just did mine based on the former.

 

2. Is the above quest repeatable? Is it 20z Bag + one of hat/suit/eyepatch daily? Or just once? The patch notes doesn't mention it as 'daily' or 'repeatable.'

 

3. Does the Captain Morgan quest monster drop anything, or is there a reason to farm it, or is it simply because there are way more people trying to kill it than how many there is (1 spawn x 14 channels). I had to switch channels a lot before I got to kill it. It was being camped.

 

 

1. I didn't always get this quest from mailbox, somtimes i got it directly from the NPC is Pront, so you can skip the going to Alberta to a NPC that sends you to the NPC in Pront

2. The Captain Morgan quest is one time only/char, that means you can do it with every lvl 50+ char once. 

3. Captain Morgan doesn't drop anything but it's dead on all chs because a lot of people were rushing to do this quest cause hey perm costume/accs are nice! of course only 14 chs and a lot of ppl means he is mostly dead, but just pick a ch and wait there, you can party with all the other ppl waiting for morgan so that everyone gets the quest. The maximum time i've waited is 7 mins so it's not that long.

 

In addition, there is the kill Drake in Ghost Ship Hard mode daily quest that you can get from Verta Delta's daily quest board. The reward is rather neat  I had the drake style set from last year, but I don't think it's bad that everyone can get it now, casual players deserve nice things too ^.^ And I remember Grand Pirate was my first costume in Ro and i was so proud of it

Can I just thank the developers for once that they're actually beginning to fix things? I hope to see more of these old bugs fixed in the coming months. Even though it's not noted here, it appears that they fixed:

1) Daily quest not being acceptable between 12AM to roughly 5 or 6AM
2) Wind rune 8/12% abuse corrected

 

Of course, they did break a few things as always, but they aren't as annoying as these ones were. I guess 2 steps forward, 1 step back is still good enough.

If you're talking about Captain Morgan quest, you need to choose one of the 3 costumes.

Someone pointed out that individual Blue Spinels cost 75kp each already. These are 80kp each.

Also, shouldn't the x10 boxes be priced lower than 2 x5 boxes? There's an additional incentive to buying the x5 box, but none with the x10 box.

Was wondering the same hah. Blades would make more sense at least, but I guess its just yet another translation typo. The back acc does look nice imo. The blades have this "metal shine" animation too.

Can't really blame them much considering how gungho people go about it, embracing the concept of paying hundreds to create a vanity item with one more tiny stat than the previous version.

 

Sure it was evil on their side to think about it and actually put it in the game, but ultimately it's the players' fault for accepting and welcoming it so much ("I bought 50 boxes and still nothing. Too bad I'll keep trying and see if RNGesus notices me", "It only took me 30 tries to get 3 slots! RNGod was on my side", "I got this vanity set but didn't get the stats. FIX IT NAO"). Every now and then you even get suggestions for MORE of this stuff to be added to costumes. It's insane.

 

I havent spent a coin on this game and i was one of the players last year who spent a week doing Forums Events/In game Events/ and farming drake...i feel betrayed that i was able to get this costume this time in less than 10minutes after this patch and it also has an option to be bought via kafra store AS WELL as the old drakes lost their Event status about them. so please ill cherish this as much as i want.

OK BY RUINING i mean its not even a  fricking event item any more it turned into a kafra item... costume is no longer as rare as it was...

It doesn't really surprise me.. they've done it already to american football uniform (colo event only costume) and dignity of grand pirate. Not to mention OCU (the costume at least) will have its valued shafted a bit after the $50 donation ones are sent out. Meh they're just costumes lol.

I think a lot of people (like me and other's i've talked to in the public channel) would like some clarification regarding the Eyepatch for the Drake set. Apparently the name Eyepatch is the same for the one in the Grand Costume quest, and the Drake set BUT they're two different items? The one from the quest won't work together with the set.

 

In the Drop list from the box from the Daily quest, in the OP, it doesn't mention the eyepatch either. So what gives? do we actually need the eyepatch for the Stats effect? or is it a different one that's dropped from the box too? If it's a different item it should at least have a different name so people won't get confused.

I see, i hadn't seen that, thanks! I really hope the eyepatch will be added to the box, it's unfair otherwise. I don't really like the Set, the costume is nice, but the Hat covers the face of my chars, so i don't like it at all. I would only use it for the stats

 

Edit: What's funny is that in one of my first posts in this thread i mentioned that the eyepatch wasn't in the list of the box drop items, so it would screw those who didn't choose the eyepatch in the mailbox quest. Now it's the other way around. those who only got an eyepatch, won't give it any use other than selling it in the AH, unless they want to buy the rest of the set too, just for the appeareance.
