So I've been soloing the hard versions of secret forest tomb and cursed ghost ship many times, killing well over 70 bosses, yet the only piece of Soul Maker equipment I fot were the boots and I'm not even sure I got it in those dungeons (it probably was in Wolf's Cave).

So i was thinking, does specific class gear drop from specific bosses? What hard bosses should I maul to get my SM gear?

Yes, I know it's unnecesary, but I still want that cute dress.

Hmm as far as I remember, every boss has an equal chance of dropping them. But if you want to try, I got a soul handle from Drake last night, and I vaguely recall Golden Thief Bug dropping a few hats (could be a coincidence only though).

Edit: Drake drops weapons. Guess it's not that random.

this game tend to drop every item for other classes except yours. i remember L.O.T.S. era when i was farming my level 25 priest gear on seagod temple/izlude cave. i reached level 33 doing that dungeon over and over again. all i got was a mace :v

Yes, there are definitely class specific gear drops. F.e. the second boss in Cursed Ghostship is a ranger and therefore will only drop either Beastmaster or Ranger weapons. The first one is a Mage, so he either drops Staffs or Rods.... and so on. But I am not sure if this is true for every difficulty level and even more unsure where the devs added the noel classes.

The first one is a warrior actually.

Currently I'm doing some research on that ship. Last time i got sin gear from the war, BM from ranger, ranger from knight, crecentia from monk, BM from sorc and rogue from priest.

Considering there's crescentia in there and that I've seen crescentia gear a grand total of two times, this must be a case of low probability (against noel. And against wizards from what I can remember).

I guess in the end it's everything drops from everyone (except GTB) at different rates?

The best way to farm gears is doing RHD = random hard dungeon but you need a party to do it i guess there is no way to do it alone since the teleport is automatic when 5 players are in party the rhd gave you also a blue box that could drop gears too and would allow you to try all the hard dungeons consequentially whitout run at every entrance (is good also to farm a of DNA

I tried that a couple times and didn't really go well. So I guess I'll have to stick with the usual method.

On a positive note, Drake is now dropping SM weapons every time I defeat him with all my characters other than the SM.

i think i got cres wep from drake a few times while doing those dailies

Valatie Jeff: Staff & Rod

Francis Accel: Bow & Spear

 

These informations worked wonders, when I did the normal dungeons back then and was especially helpful in the Secret Forest Tomb. And at least for me, it was more about the weapons, not the armors, because the latter seem to be allocated by gear part quite often.

 

I doubt that Valatie or Francis drop something different in hard mode, but I am not 100% certain... and I could swear that RHD uses a different system (it should be, because all the different dungeons have the same item level then).

I guess next time I have to go turn in a quest at the church I'll check how the Zeras Hyperion costume looks on my noel with THE NEW PREVIEW FUNCTION.

God, this update is so minimal yet I love it so much.

So I surveyed a few dungeons these past few days and here are what I got from each boss:
 
Prontera Culvert (~5 times):
-GTB=shoes
 
Wolf's Cave (twice):
-Adventurer King Poporing=gloves
-Arachnoa=shirt
-Red Scar=pants/hat
 
Izlude cave (once):
-Vadon King: shoes
-Penomena=gloves
 
Temple of Sea God (once):
-Giant Madra=gloves
-Vanuatu=shoes
-Nukaruta=hat
-Leviathan=shoes
 
Sandstorm Fortress (over 10 times):
-Jeiwat=pants
-Taurin=shoes/shirt
-Abrahim=gloves
-Mustafa=gloves
-Hazard=shoes/shirt
-Fury Jeiwatch=pants/hat
-Assassin Elder=pants
-Juliana Russil=weapon
 
Also ran Payon quite a few times but I can't remember what I got. Same for Cursed Ghost Ship with around 20 runs, I just remember you could get everything there.
I completely forgot about Sandirman and have probably done all of this in vain.
 
So far all the noel gear I got gloves once (Payon) and shoes four times (GTB, Payon, Leviathan and King Vador), as well as a few dolls, a scythe and a handle by the grace of Drake, but I'm not even looking for those lol
 
By the way, about Dostoiev's "instakill" attack, is it actually instakill or does it do something like 10k damage? I remember my knight surviving that with a sliver of life, but it kills off my SM.

EDIT: will you look at that? Silky trousers on the very first boss I killed in Sandirman. Still can't get past Dostoiev though. Dat instakill.
