6 hr? i did about an hour and a half total of fishing and caught 2 sharks and a tuna. nothing near worth redeemable

 

i have also had novice slippers run away from me and done a whole fishing thing

tattered maps are worth something again since the soils have been restored. visit the coordinates from the wiki to redeem your reward (will need to fight some spawned monsters). no need to visit ahab, just refer to the locations in the table on the wiki.

you get tattered maps from sealed envelopes, which you can get randomly while actually fishing.

or you can buy tattered maps off other players.

you don't need whitebeard, eyepatch, nothing.

I didnt get any squid, but got whales worth 30 points. Using regular fishing rod and nipper, and fought so hard. Talk about lucky. Don't know what to do about the giant squid tho
