I'm baaaaaackkkk!

Original Quest Date: 9/17/14

Re-Enabled: 8/12/15

Re-Enabled AGAIN 7/6/17

Re-Enabled AGAIN AGAIN 8/8/18

Start off in Northern Alberta. 3Mz2wIL.png         GhzwefQ.png

Talk to Welsley and ask for a fishing rod. He will tell you to bring him some items for him to make you one. You can choose between a regular fishing rod and a small fishing rod.

To make the regular fishing rod you need:

998.png 1 Iron

1025.png 1 Cobweb

1068.png 1 Barren Trunk.

After giving him all the required materials, he will give you a fishing rod.

lpTS75M.pngGtz0cET.png

Rod in hand, DON'T EQUIP IT, you can start fishing in various places around Rune-Midgard.

Note: When you equip the small rod, the -3 second cast time is for New World Fishing. Not this quest.

To fish, you must find a body of water with a ripple spot on it.

kRKMBoN.png

Once you find a spot, you can choose your bait/rod and cast your line.

Note: The fishing spot cooldowns are per character.

Choose your rod, then your bait and wait for the art to appear.

OZNc3Gx.png

After some artwork pops up, you will be given a set of menu options.

KzAlV0h.png zkGm46G.png

You choose your rod and bait, and if you fish well, you will pull an item up!

HOW TO FISH?

Your catch seems to be pulling away from you. -> Play out the line!

Your fish seems to be holding steady. ->Reel it in!

Your catch seems to be coming towards you. -> Hold Steady!

Campitor Hints:

Different baits increase your chances of catching rare fish in certain areas.

The rare fish can only be caught on certain a map.

Tentacles being used in Alberta increase your chance to hook a Sturgeon by a flat 10%. So if you had 5% before it becomes 15%

Salmon really like the taste of Earthworms, insect feelers, and various worm peelings.

Tuna like to eat fresh fish.

It is important to match up the right bait with the right fish.

People should really stop throwing away novice slippers its polluting the waterways.

KNOWN FISHING SPOTS:

This section is a WIP. I know there are others, and I will work on adding them.

Izlude: Use Fresh Fish and a small rod.

GH- Use Meat to catch Piranahs.

Byland Island - Special Case, you have a chance to pull in a Giant Tentacle that will add Blue Whales directly to your inventory.

Alberta - Use Tentacles and a Small Rod.

You have a chance of getting a rare fish, that can be traded in for points; that can then be turned into prizes.

Rare Fish can be turned into points aka Blue Whales.

Yeah, I like the guide, but when fishing, I received a tattered treasure map. I visited the location on the map, but nothing happened. What are the treasure maps good for?

I found only two spots in Izlude. The one in Sapphic's SS, and one at around 90,99 on the bridge. At least, that's the coordinates when looking south.

Oh wow aren't these some of the stuff that jRO gets through crafting(using izlude dungeon mob materials) I'm happy and surprised to see them here.

Will we get the weapons too? Such as this:

or this:

Are the whales points or just... useless whales?

Also, I got a quest icon after fishing, but didn't see any new quests.
