Temp storage is account-based, and since you can use the same account on both servers, you'd be able to access both.

 

Your characters wouldn't transfer, of course, but temp storage is just built with the account so you'd be able to access it.

 

Shoddy coding at its best. Almost every other game would have its storages separate by server, but not RO2. Come think of it, didn't RO1 allow you to use the same account in different servers with different storages?

It is as you said: shoddy coding at its best. MMORPG developers that actually think ahead are a rare breed these days.

That's true for RO1.

 

Also, they cited that the main reason for having it synced through the servers is because it would help the player by letting him access his purchases from his account on any server. While that is technically kind and helpful on paper, it easily opens up this storage issue we have at the moment.

 

And seriously, who just buys things without a definite purpose for it? Even if your intention is to resell, you would at the minimum know which server you plan to sell it on. Much more if you intend to use it.

Dont worry they will find out in 2 or 3 week and make a separat storage and also make a lot of ppl angry again

if you want start fresh, nothing can be bring over..

are you gonna block mail service from new server so people can't send new items and money to those characters and seeds so fourth if fresh server u shouldn't be able send because people will abuse the mail system

They are not complaining about stuff to bring to Freyja, but about stuff they were saving for later use in Odin, and had to dump in whatever alt had a space because devs are dumb enough to make an account bound storage to get rewards. Everyone knows by now that the new server involves a new char with empty bags.

I would imagine that mail service is already server bound, so it shouldn't allow to interact with chars from Freyja.

Why does people love so much to pkill people indiscriminately? there are a lot of people who just want to PLAY the game without worrying about a high level pkiller camping the important spots in a map, making it harder for others. You already have pvp duels and colo to have fights with whoever wants to accept it, so just raise your ego with that and leave us non-pvp players out of it.

ya true ,i play other games they had pk alot stuff came from chest including your armour, i don't feel like being crushed by pvp or pk you call it

I doubt mail would work, given I think we could have the same named characters in either server. Igamine trying to send something to your alt but goes to a different player using the same name in the other server. So definitely bound to server.

Names are intended not to cross over to avoid name sniping if we were to merge characters or servers at some point in the future.

 

We've opened up naming restrictions to allow numbers.

 

I'll look into the starter packages.

That announcement is from ODIN, as you can see WP always messed up so don't be surprise if anything unusual happens. hahaha
