While trying to solo Gatekeeper, I keep getting d/c'd with the message: Connection to server lost due to abnormal client status (0x00031). This has happened every time for the 5 times I have reached Gatekeeper. I don't get this message anywhere else in Van Cliff. I suspect it has something to do with the petrification status.
Please help me. I can't job advance to 4th job unless I kill Gatekeeper, and this d/c makes it impossible.

Alright, after attempting everything I could think of, I managed to beat Gatekeeper with one small change: I unbound Jump and didn't jump all fight.
From an obscure IAH post on the same error code, the disconnect has something to do with Jump-Canceling moves.
I later ran into the same problem at Van Cliff, but not jumping during that fight also prevented the D/C.
It's still something to look into--not being able to Jump-Cancel means that anyone who depends on Jump-Cancel to dodge attacks will be fairly crippled in these key boss fights.

Strangely enough, now I'm getting the same disconnect issue in Chaos Smoldering Swamp, of all places. Again, I have never encountered this bug if I do *not* jump or jump-cancel. Please look into jump-canceling maybe causing client/server desynch?
