I think this is an issue that exists for nVidia cards newer than the 600 series. I don't know of any fixes or special settings to make RO appear normal.

I'm using my onboard 4600 but it's a pain switching all the time -_- and I can't use 144hz either

so I need to SLI to make RO look good? lol

So I can expect a fix in 2077?

Just another case of RO not playing well with new tech.

someone else had this problem with the weird /heh graphic. they were able to work around the issue by activating UAC on another application. (for me, opening another RO client would automatically pop up a UAC window). See if that works.

Have you tried turning off all the bells and whistles that your graphics card defaults on? Turn the AI (if any) off, turn AA and FX/SMAA off, change Mipmapping to Performance instead of Quality, turn Vsync off, turn AO off, turn Triple Buffering off, turn Trilinear Filtering off (in-game as well as on the card), turn ALL the optimisation features off, set Flip Queue to 3 or lower... etc etc.

If that doesn't work try disabling the visual effects of your desktop. You can get to this menu via Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Performance > Settings ... and toggle stuff off. I noticed Aero (Transparent Glass & Aero Peek) is particularly bad with RO.
