After some playing around I made a plugin for Firefox that checks the status of the official iRO2 servers.

Mozilla Firefox - iRO2 Status Add-on

Download & Install

The add-on is officially reviewed by Mozilla!

You can always view the server status on our website without requiring the add-on.

If you have questions or issues just ask in this thread.

There's always the status at our website: http://status.niceboat-guild.com

I made this for those who would prefer an add-on as it's faster than switching tabs.

I had some caching issues slowing down my website, making status updating a bit slower (like 2 minutes to update the status). This is now fixed.

Loading times for the plugin should be way faster now, no need to update.

After a quick search  in google, the only solutions are to install different development branches of the browser, since those still allow non-store extensions. Any other solution i've read was either temporal or annoying; and apparently Google stands firm on their new policy of auto-disabling stuff that could be potentionally dangerous for non-techy users.

Edit: Heh, i just noticed the OP was edited with a workaround. That's one of the "annoying" solutions i found while searching; not the best but I guess it works.

When I started development for the Google Chrome extension I wasn't aware that distributing on the Google Web Store was mandatory. I don't even use my Google account anymore. My recommendations for Chrome users are: use my website or get Firefox. Installing a developer build of Chromium would also work but may break compatibility with other extensions, stability issues... that's why I'm not recommending that solution.

Uptime stats are now gone to improve performance. Firefox users should receive an automatic update soon that makes the add-on a bit prettier.

For those still using this, the add-on won't work for now. This should be fixed before next week.

It's updated now. Firefox will download the new version automatically.

Remember that you can always use our status page instead.
