I am a regular cash user. However, I lack of zenny . Unfortunately, Any purchased cash shop items are not trade-able hence I would like to know . . .

1. Is it illegal to sell cash shop items to someone through gifting method/system? Personally I believe I have the right to use my money to earn me zenny . . .

2. If not, am I allowed to ask for payment first prior to send the item through gifting system?

Actually, if you purchase a cash shop item that's boxed, it can be traded and sold to other players for in-game zeny. But once the item is out of the box, it's account-bound so you can't trade it.

What do you mean boxed? Because whenever  I bought something, it will automatically go to my temp gift box and when I accepted it, it would soul-bond to me

Ah, you're talking about RO2, not RO1. My bad.

Think you'd get a better chance at a response if you post in the RO2 Community Chat. Not many visit the WarpPortal Technical section.

as far as i know, it's not illegal but if you get scammed you won't get your money back. i myself have bought several super large bags via gifting.

-agree whether zeny or gift item first

-make sure you take screenshot of your agreement

-send the item/trade zeny

-profit

normally, people who are buying non-tradeable items from cash shop (such as super large bags) are not scammers since scamming is bannable and what's the use of the item if you get banned, right? still, it doesn't hurt to be careful. judge accordingly.

if you do get scammed, just send a ticket to support with the screenshot you took. you won't get your money back but at least they won't be able to enjoy the item that they scammed from you.

Idk about you but the support portal is kinda buggy for me. I submitted the ticket with the exact question. I got a notification email from them:

I asked on Facebook the same question and this is their reply:

Ragnarok Online 2 If you are exchanging an item for in game currency, it is allowed. If you are exchanging any item in game for real currency, it is RMT, which is strictly prohibited. As long as the player is sending you Zeny and not dollars, it is not prohibited, but if in some way you or the other player is scammed by the other in the process, support can not assist in item restoration or arbitration. It is at your own risk to do exchanges outside the auction house or trade system.
But then I got the ticket response:

Greetings,

Please note that such activity is discouraged. Any item transactions between players in this manner is uninsured and cannot be restored.. Accounts found committing ill mannered activity will be suspended.

Thank You for your understanding.

The site does not work with the latest version of IE. You'll need to use Firefox or Google Chrome to use the Support site now.
