Hi,
My game update is near 100% completed: I'll soon be able to start playing requiem, but I got a problem- cannot pick a class...
I have to choose between Defilers and Tempests and cannot decide.
Which class is better in 1v1 PvP?
Which one is better in mass PvP?
Which one is better for fast solo grind?
Which one is better for group grind?

Ty

PS: This is not a "Kruxena vs. Turan: Who's sexier?" topic.

Hmm if its a defiler vs tempest then the tempest should just keep out of range and heal any damage taken, eventually winning. And in general 1v1 I'd say tempest would win simply because of the heals.

seems easy enough but with lag and all you might not be able to do that and all defi will need to do is cast fear and bye bye and since its faster than any other temp cc defi>temp

Assuming no lag ofc..tempest should keep out of range and defiler is just a sitting duck.

even without lag its not that easy

if you keep running away from defi, cos he will be running towards you, its hard to nuke him and when you eventually turn a little for half a second he might catch up and fear you, trust me defi will win

Yea if defiler catches up he can win but idk how easy that is (assuming no lag). I mean fear is 20m so he prob needs to get within 15m so that the tempest is still in range after cast.

Oh and what about holy bolt..that should help to keep him back^^.

1. both
2. both
3. both
4. both

Tempest is better solo I guess & defi better in party, but both are great.

Defiler/Tempest, both are unique in their own ways.

As for me, Tempest is bit easier to play maybe because I'm used to it & it's more fun!

Good-luck choosing your class.

I found defiler more fun to play. Both are good and will have no problem grinding.

Yeah, I guess if you want the easier class then pick tempest. They also rarely get aggro so you won't die in grind parties because they have no DoT on aoes.

What do you mean by 1v1 PvP? 1v1 situations in battles? Prepared duels? PK?

If it's prepared duels, what's the starting distance? All these may differ.

Ty for all teh answers :D
Actually I don't seek the easiest/iWin class, but a interesting, fun class with great potential if played adequately. I don't wanna farm nabs just by pressing 1-5-7-9-3-1-1-5... randomly, I need something that could be very devastating depending my skill. Also I like aggressive and technique gameplay. For exemple, I prefer to have 2 abilities with 50.DPS and 3.sec cooldown each, rather than 1 ability with 100.DPS and 6.sec cooldown

lol, dunno: all of them...
I don't plan dueling all the time, or permanently wandering around PK'ing here and there...

Ty again for the help :(

PS: Any gentle enough Clan master to recruit a newbie on Hammerine?

defis kinda have a harder time leveling up untill 60 when they get Trap Of Stiffness.
and even then the Trap often misses.
still a fun class to play, lots of crowd controll skills and aoe power.

tempest -> easy all the way, as squishy as the defi but with an awesome self heal, and also a few crowd controll skills.

For the new dungeon, Tempest will be http://forums.warppo...tyle_emoticons/default/fing32.gif . Only two CC skills work on higher level mobs 100%. Lightning Restraint and Para Trap. Can't count on stuns/Terms of Service/Sleep vs mobs of that level. Fear might as well, but only 1 target so.......

Too true  Well, Tempest are a bit easier starting out. They get Lightning Restraint at 50 (but it really sucks til 62).. Defiler has to wait til 60 for Terms of Service.
At high levels both can kill fast, with a slight edge to Tempest for ease of play and survivalability.

both classes are great and very similar. ofc its a matter of gear: in pvp a tempest with average gear is better than a defi with average gear. + vamp touch , which is bugged sux against a instant full hp-recovery self-heal. but if youre looking for a unique class with lots of distracting skills (fear, shadow bind, Terms of Service, binding soul) go for Defiler.
