My friend, I will just have to throw in my cheap 2 cents here...

 

To put it simple and in a few words: it is a lost cause... Now more than ever before.

 

The greatest illusion we all had for years, and the few remaining still have nowadays, remains the same. That somehow ReQQ will become a "balanced" game, even more so now that we have our very own "dedicated dev team" (hooray... ?).

 

For years caster classes had the upper hand, it is very much true, in the majority of situations. It is still the same, even more so, it will be the same tomorrow, if there is going to be a tomorrow in ReQQ.

 

Of course, you will always, but absolutely always, hear the whining of that little caster over there who got "trampled by that so OP Commander (or some other melee)". We all know it can happen, and we all know it is just not what usually happens.

 

This game had always a focus on caster classes, and through the years and for a number of reasons we all very well know, have made them even stronger. And when I say stronger, I mean they can ultimately become stronger. People, pretty please stop being jerks, and for once compare "equal" for ""equal", and not some half-arsed under-geared  under-skilled whatnot Caster against some "uber" perfectly geared and (possibly) perfectly skilled Melee character.

 

How about trying to compare a caster with well over 30k HPs, maxed out resistances and probably maxed out defense too, sporting massive nuking capacity with massive crit % and additional crit damage, to a melee character with "similar" capabilities. Except, they are not similar capabilities.

 

I have talked about this so many times in the past, it has become very old and boring news. Still, it doesn't matter. Because "logic" has departed long ago. Logic that says, that, in general, caster classes have certain characteristics, and melee classes their own. Such as casters generally being physically weaker, with low defense, while capable of high damage output. Or perhaps, higher survivability, but lower damage capacity (like a healing-based characters). On the other hand, melee classes, are generally stronger physically, can take higher damage, and of course, deal a lot of damage at melee. Or they can be sneaky and lethal with surprise attacks, like typical rogues / assassins can be.

 

Conclusion: generally caster classes will die easier, if attacked, and before they finish their own targets off. And they generally have a tough time indeed when cornered by melee classes. These are the facts since time immemorial.

 

I don't know that very many examples where caster classes can have it all-in-one: high physical strength (meaning lots of HPs), high defense capability, high resistance to elemental / magic attacks, ultra high damage output. This, I just call god-mode, and it is exactly what you can have in ReQQ. When you invest enough. And you can never have all of this in a melee character, even when you invest enough, or more than enough. You can not have the same as a caster will have. End of story.

 

So, we just accept the fact and deal with it, like we have done for years. This is how ReQQ has been, from the first day, and more so through the years.

 

Good luck playing a Commander and melee classes, and good luck with all the awesome "changes" that are happening and are due. I just hope ti can be still fun, but I personally have given up. As I said in the beginning, it is a lost cause.

too add my two words : agree with Ninn :

 

i talk about the sacrifice of turan melee for three or four years yet : and day after day only going worse , i turn from commie to prot hoping to survive a bit longer and succeed some months two years ago , but even with full resist , full def , "full" block , high rate heals and 35 k HP average (then, i didn't really play anymore today , just farming sometimes , cause i can't do anything else , my set so is going old ^^') you can't SURVIVE at all ,

 

what it supposed to be the specificity of prot , i don't even talk about KILLING , i talk about not being killed in four hits = four secs... turan melee is totally dead , and yeah like Bloody said , why persisting ? cause i used to love that class , and was eager to play it , now with all the time , energy and money spend , i am not about to put all the efforts again in an other class that give me no fun , with easy stupids kills or else.

 

the actual status of turan melee classes just like warlord with they poor nerf is near the same than if gravity had just removed them from the game.

 

you like your turan ? go farm , you can't do NOTHING else. even raiding you are useless, no matter how good you are other non tanks classes can do the same with a real dps XD

Yes and that is only considering one person's.  5+ mystics raining aoes and a couple defilers is where the real fun begins.

Yes ... 3 AOE Skills = ca.9k Damage per 2 seconds....And not 1 melee stay...In all other Games is AOE Atk for many Mobs but not so strong^^

My prot handles 2js bosses same time, et, aos, voxyon, maregall all WITHOUT a rad standing still using maybe 1 pot throughout entire raid. Show me another class that can do that. Sure in pvp I don't get absurd kills, but first it's a pve toon, and second, it takes at least 5 people to drop me. That's 5 people that have to focus on me while my teams dps can focus on them.
Don't go putting prots in same boat as commies. Build a proper prot and it's a fantastic support toon and great distraction

Right?  I've had sins single me out in a crowd, not see my health move for over 6 seconds and still hack away while a squishy temp runs on past.

That debuff is GAY but you'd have to be moving pretty quick to catch me with it :D

i remember how i made whole 2 % per day with my sin in s1 :)

 

i remember how i was happy when i reach lvl 65 with my very first toon (commie , same name) after weeks of farm and quests yeah :thumb:  now leveling a toon take two days with an arm attached in the back :boogie: and yeah i laugh too when some ask for more exp events

oh, that could be interesting

actually my thought was to implement magic block for shields. would allow prots and commies to properly be able to tank caster as well

i meant immunity like fire damage = 0 + scad but they are 30 second buffs and they kick each other so you cant be immune to everything at same time

...i understand your point but sorry i disagree , ok for some raid it's still more...ehm... "relax" , "décontracté" ? with a prot cause bosses don't roam "everywhere" at some moments , but still yeah , i saw zerks , WL or mystics can many things or many raids or bosses on "open world maps"

 

my prot can tank two JS bosses at same too, that's not the point i talk about : my PROT is my main : i never choose and will never choose to use as an exclusive support/raid bosses only.

 

How many people in years talking about  "eh ! get the -_- out of here , battle are not for prot !!!" :puppyeye:  why not ? before the insane increase of DPS and CAD SCAD it WAS as a support and "borrower" ( not sure if this english term is correct for what i mean sorry , will have to check :dunno:  ) and of course was not there for kills but to offer victory to my team and earn some battle points.

 

now and even if , i must admit , i am stuck with old pc material and moreover a pathetic internet connection ( that i can't help , for the laptop , someday i will be rich tho :blaugh: ) my only way to earn some points is to feed with a toon full +30 85 CON full +30 everything that get owned in four seconds and have same HP than a caster... and lower ability to survive... WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A PROTECTOR if he can't survive better than any other class ? and why should that be the ONLY CLASS STUCK to a type of play the RAID , while all others classes can play everything ???

sorry for my bad english. once again : my main IS my main : i play it all the time for everything : there is no reason the PROT should be the ONLY class that can do nothing else but RAID :bang:

In pvp prots just spam heals and make pretty good points.  Like Apol said you can cause annoyance with your heals/buffs/debuffs.  In a raid we don't really do anything much more either.  More DPS but not true dmg.   You might want to invest in the 20%/40% hp's while they have them, it means more for you than for me since you don't have AM.  If you get stunned under aoes you're done.

Tbh the only thing I dont like about mystics is how many of them there are.  I LOVE mystics and they are my usual food, but when there are 7 on one team hiding under their endless aoes it gets old.  I'd much rather they nerf ele's just becuase they steal kills and hit harder to me.  Plus with that hydrophobia and their range they are much more annoying.  And the lil naked children should all just die.

Battlefields are fun you just can't stand in the aoes.  Even one on one against a maxed +30 if you stand in their aoes it'll be a close fight.  So until they give commies a diff skill/more surviving capabilities you should (for the most part)  avoid aoes.  

 

But battlefields are definitely fun :P

If anything is getting nerfed on mystic it is their heals not dmg

nerf the amount of mystics in the game. Set the available limit to...5 per server ^^?  Good or is that too high?
