Hello to everyone and a Happy New Year.

I want a little help,

I have a warrior 35 lvl and a Knight 31 level. I LOVE ( for good looking.. :) Knights.

I want to have a TANK to solo bosses. ( Of course when i'll be Master Level, not now )

Well, then my problem is : what class is prefered for SOLO TANK ????

It will be appreciated if anyone show me NUMBERS to proof his/her answer.   ( the final DEF I will have.... and so on.. )

I want to know couse I do not know wich character to select to be my MAIN.

Thanks ..  :) :) :)

if you want to go everywhere where youll be the only tank

youll be disappointed

The only tank that could do that is BM(luring in DWU/L)

like the only healer that could do that is a SM

if strictly between the two

which ever you play barely matters

I think they are terrible tanks since you cant pump much Vit into them the only build that make sense

with them are int build

If you get partied with another Knight/warrior which is an int build and you go Vit

they could probably steal the aggro from you

To answer your question simply: All classes can solo bosses. Some just do it better than others. The reason for this is because every class can reach the defense cap or very close to it easily by refining gear to +20, and also the existance of heal pets. In the end, it all comes down to playstyle. If you like playing stealthy, for example, and skipping mobs on the way to bosses, you could play a Rogue or Assassin. Seeing as you mentioned Knight or Warrior, they are both adept at soloing bosses. Pick the one you like playing more.

Yes, you can even solo osiris bosses with Osiris gear as a Knight. Just get yourself a heal pet.

Ok, hello again.

After a little research and a little gameplay... :)      I found that.

If you haven't a heal pet ( as you mentioned ), is hard as -_- to solo bosses with Knight. I also asked a few players Knights at 9 Master level. ( Bosses like Osiris )

My question is... : stand alone solo tank? ( class? ) ( priest, BeastMaster or Warrior? I do not like very much Monks :) )

Thanks :)

To answer your question, Beastmaster is the solo tank that requires the least amount of money. Beastmaster has lower damage than the two, but will not die because it has built in defense and heals. Definitely the easiest to pick up, will find parties pretty easily if needed to, build is not complex whatsoever. You do not need to refine your gear or get heal pets if you don't want to. You could even venture into PVP environments if you get bored and you'd do pretty well. If you feel like learning more, hop on over to the Beastmaster subforums.

Priest prefers (maybe requires) refinement to achieve the high defense, but have the heals. Warriors have the defense but need the heal pet to survive long fights. I personally know players of both that can Solo some endgame bosses perfectly fine though, you just have to put the right combination of effort into it.

However, if you truly love your knight, I think you should consider working on it. Heal pets are not too difficult to farm in a day or two. Willow Worker will be the cheapest and fastest to farm. In a raid with all the tank classes, top threat is usually Warrior and Knight, BMs and Monks have a slightly harder time catching up. I can see knights who achieve phenomenal results in end game, and you can read around to see how they excel.

Experience: Still a free to play Beastmaster since day 1, can solo all but i think 5 bosses, which are of course not meant to be soloed. Fun things to solo include WoE Guardian Leaders and Himmelmez's Dragon. Can also go into relatively dangerous areas all by yourself if you'd like. I use pretty garbage gear, but still perform just fine.

Thanks for quick answer.

Yeah I see..... but I do not like so much BeastMasters...  :(   ( I mean for a character that I play, like characters in the game is wonderfull )

In conclusion.....  , you tell me that with Knight STAND ALONE TANK is not suitable... ?!?!  :(

Maybe Priest...? I love them too..

I always think you should play the class you like most. Beastmaster was very weak for the longest time, but I stuck with it, and when we got our skill update, we became one of the top tier. It's okay to not like Beastmaster XD not everyone wants to be a fat bear all the time :3.

It really depends on what you consider stand-alone tank :o I'm sure knights can solo end-game bosses too, they're pretty much the same as warriors in that regard: have the defense, needs a heal pet. Sadly knight's heal isn't as good as it could be, but that's not supposed to be it's specialty so it can't be helped. I think all my knight friends have stopped playing so I don't know any end-game knights personally. You should listen to the people in this subforum who play knights, they know what they're talking about :)

Pets are really standard, so don't let that put you off. Just put in some time to farm it and it'll pay for itself. The one thing I left out is there ARE certain places where pets are disabled (like WoE Guardian Leader), and you shouldn't solo those places with Warrior or Knight. If you really really want to go to these places (they aren't necessary) then just go with a healer and duo the bosses.

Like most others said, you should play the class that you love (Knight). I see you're contemplating playing a Priest. Yes, they can solo bosses too, but you will need to refine ALL your gear to +20 as you have much lower defense. Just get a heal pet for your Knight. It'll be worth it in the end.
