Edit: 0521 - now this build is quite easy since penetration cards are easy to get

 

What is penetration? Upon dmg computation penetration % is deducted from def %. Upon hit if your target tank has 90% & your penetration is 35%, you will hitting the target w/ 55% def(90 minus 35). I've tried removing all my armors to see my def & it is literally a ragnarok1 strip all armor skill. Now you'll 1-shot those non-tanks w/ ease w/ penetration build.

 

Why penetration? It is better & cheaper than power 40(power nerfed & now only 20% dmg). Unlike pvp runes, penetration works in pvp & pve. If you are new or who don't want to craft 2 or more sets of gears then penetration build will work for you. It can also work at WOE since you'll be a faster emp breaker by penetration reducing emp's def & also kill & even 1-shot cloth type users even at full +20.

 

EVENT TITLES

 

Event Titles updates almost each month & I've collected several. There are 2 types of testing w/c title is best for my char. One is by trying hands-on PVP & the other by computation. Testing them 1 by 1 before seems easy apprently due to the number of titles increasing, it can be confusing. I'm not going for The Grand Heart that mainly benefits knight, war, monk, cres since I'm using a bear. Also taking suggestions and advice w/ this thread.

penetration - from what i know, this lowers def of enemy w/c is best in boosting your damage. my preference, this is better than boosting your str/int/PA/MA
vigor - lowers cd of skills
haste - attack interval of melee attacks
cast speed - duration before a skill can be casted/cancelled

PA - physical attack (melee)

MA - magic attack (casters)

Conclusion: I'm goin for Summer Sculptor (1500 HP) for now though w/ recent 1 shotting mechanics, 1500 HP could be irrelevant. Thus, should take other attack modifiers if so.

Thief Class - Martial Artist - 3% crit(if it crits means a sure kill then rehide) or Collector - 10% stats (survivability)

Assassin - Christmas Rudolph or Easter Bunny

Monk - The Grand Heart

Priest - Christmas Wreath or Summer Sculptor (for survivability since healers are targetted first though you should be most likely 1-shotted by several classes, around 3 DoT's from cres, priests & mage classes)

Cres - The Grand Heart

(*Arbalist's preference. Though, I was thinking using Wind Emblem instead if at ML35 your cast speed is not yet capped, better to fast cast fireball w/ DoT 10-25k than more MA. That's 2-3 DoT's for average ML35 Himm/Cazar or pvp geared Eddga)

Editing & adding my build.

 

Currently I'm building penetration.

As of this writing, current penetration formula wasn't changed for years but might be changed in the future due to how it's imbalanced, underrated & overpowered. To credit those this is the link http://forums.warppo...gro2-stat-calc/

 

Penetration = your target's defense minus your penetration(last value stat) = target's defense when you hit him

Example:

Target's def is 78% minus your penetration of 10% thus hitting him at 68%

 

That is why thief classes overkill even can hit more than 150k dmg. Imagine someone at 65% or less def or hitting someone at osi gears.

Also you should consider the def cap w/c 75% when considering this.

 

Current end game now has more access to penetration. It is cheaper than upgrading your power rune & since you may already have a high power rune, your next upgrade will be minimal.

Example:

You have power rune 24 & wanna buy power 28, that's only 4% for a large cost. But if you build penetration, it will be cheaper in cost and will do more dmg on the average.

The list of attainable penetration-abled items cheapest is eddga gloves, all have 117 penetration except tanks - bm,knight,monk. Acce - serenia earrings is 79 penetration, eddga ruby acce is 47. Next, cards - osi cheapest & blue to gold Jawaii cards for more but rather expensive. Titles - prefix of serenia card, suffix of 2 other titles.

 

I'm not building ranger, warrior, bm & monk for penetration. Ranger & warrior can have penetration gloves but not the latter 2.

Ranger already has 5pcs of +2 osi cards (23+5 x 5 = 140). Add the Easter title w/ 20% more from khara scroll item will be 36. And also, seren earrings 79, eddga acce 47. Total of 419 w/c will decrease target's defense of ~13.92%. That means disregard everything above 88.92% def but i will definely do more dmg w/ people below that def. Let's say my target SM has 75% def, I will be hitting him w/ his def at 61.08 like he was wearing osi or menace. 419 penetration is like I'm a default thief class on ymir now.

Future updates:

My war will be close to similar w/ this but bm & monk will have most likely -1 or 2% penetration per build due to lack of penetration on gloves. Updates should include maybe +3 cards but due to the chance of getting them is not cost effective (btw i'm using the niceboat™ database), could be if current bottleneck of not getting gold cards.

 

 

Conclusion:

By end game, if i get those cards i could have more penetration than a thief on ymir ofc if he don't also get those expensive cards.

My favorites and some additional considerations:
Mobs in Forgotten Payon have roughly 96% Defense, the small amount of penetration you can get on titles isn't going to help most classes. Even Assassins can barely benefit (if at all).
 

Halloween Magician is one of the ones I regret not getting. Cast speed is rare to come by and it's good for keeping your char mobile. I prefer this one for Range DPS classes (Ranger, Wizard).

Christmas Wreath is the other one I regret not getting more of. The additional Vigor is very useful for achieving Perma Stun for knights (though why stun when you can lol 1-shot everything right? :P). Vigor helps many other Vigor friendly classes too, like Cres for pets, Sins for Shadow armor lulz, and Priest for their Chain stun (though it won't achieve a Perma stun). I currently use this on my Wizard to tank Osiris runs and spam teleport/Embus and I love it. This title really shines in colo though: the Defense is fantastic for squishier classes (won't save you against anything that already one-shots you though) and the Vigor means lower cooldown on crucial stuns and finisher skills.

Summer Sculptor is the one I stick to on my BM as well, just because nothing else really makes an impact. 3% Power is a nice bonus and no other title gives more HP (except event doubled Grand Heart, though after event its less). EDIT: Forgot my multipliers, Summer Sculptor has better HP even during event.

Stat bonuses
Keep in mind that there are stat enhancement effects (pron buff, costume-buff, VIP, set bonuses, etc).

Titles that give a flat HP/crit/... bonuses won't be boosted, but titles with primary stats are.
 
Hitpoints vs. damage reduction
Whether damage reduction is better than a VIT/HP increase depends on your hitpoint total.

 

F.e. let's assume you have 100k HP: If you get a 2% damage reduction, you can sustain about 102k damage. So this might turn out better than any VIT bonus.
And damage reduction is more effective, the higher your starting bonus is. Easy  but unrealistic test: If you have 96% damage reduction, +2% more would halve the damage that gets through (2% instead of 4%). Ergo, it would be similar to a 100% HP increase.
 
PATK vs. damage increase
The same way, it's not easy to judge, whether a higher damage percentage outbests a certain STR/PATK bonus.
 
F.e. it's either +3% damage or +400 ATK. Without any other buff, the latter would increase your physical skill effect (damage before skills) by 38pts. If you have a starting total of 2,500pts, that's +1.52% higher damage... not that bad! The lower your starting damage, the better the fix ATK bonus.

But what happens, if you already have other percentual damage bonuses, like a good power rune, etc.? The 3% damage bonus would be simply added. On contrast, the ATK bonus would first increase the starting value, which is then amplified by the (pre-)existing percentual bonus as well...
 
If you start with 2,500pts and a power 40%, any title that increases your PATK by 564pts (including all buffs) would be as effective as the title with +3% damage.
 
Penetration

Yes it does decrease the defense of your target. It's irrelevant, if that target would still end up better than the defense cap (75%), but might be extremely powerful if it gets below that cap and gets less useful if the target has nearly no defense at all. So that one is hard to judge as well.

Using your calculation method, a crecentia would have 50pts in total, so it must be the most broken class, even before Warriors & Knights, who profit from INT, but not in that chart. And since you imply that it would be balanced, if the total is the same, let's change the Crecentia this way:

 

STR: Patk 6 || Hit 0 || Parry 1

INT: Matk 6 || Hit 0 || Parry 1

AGI: Hit 0 || Crit 0 || Dodge 1

VIT: 4 HP

WIS: 18 SP

 

Total: 37pts

 

So he would never hit, would never crit and might end with less than 10k HP, but it would be balanced... because he has the same total as a Ranger!!! You see, it's not that easy.

Summer sculptor give 1500 hp but war and knight have a skill that increase the hp amount of 20% so they are 1800 hp for us.

beastmaster gets 2475 ,monk gets 2025 , priest gets 1725

penetration cards are now easy to get for this build. note that you'll get more dmg than upgrading your power rune. this is even cheaper, better & faster to get than power 40(power 40 nerfed & halved dmg to 20%). this build will make your penetration same as a sinx & capable of 1-shots even to tanks. and imagine why sinx have imba dmg due to their penetration that everyone else can now easily get
