why couldn't you just test this out on sakray to see how it actually works? are the cards not available there?

 

Last patch made me unable to connect to sakray server unfortunately.

well that's a bummer. they're probably doing internal testing for new dungeons that are scheduled to come in april.

Let me be clear. With 2x Fenrir Card and 100% Variable Cast Time Reduction on Sakray, EVERYTHING was instant cast, except for Mystical Amplification, for some reason. All other skills on all other classes were instant.

If you can kill fenrir on chaos, chances are you can get 100% variable. If you can get 2 cards, chances are you have 100% variable. Hell, if you can get even 1 card. Why would you even need foresight at that point? Foresight is a useless skill, even before the introduction of fenrir.

Foresight is bad. I dont recommend getting it ever. Its useless.

Foresight was bad because of long fixed cast time, which paired with reloading it after few casts made casting it nothing but a waste of time. Without fixed cast time its free -50% variable So with lets say spell 3 spell 3 in weapon (16%), 120INT, temporal boots with -% variable cast, cast time would be almost instant. Wearing costly spell18FAW and KK carded COD would be no longer obligatory. You call that useless? Besides, Fernir is one of the best headgear cards anyway because of MATK bonus win-win situation

But its super easy to geet 100% variable with competitive damage gears in pvm. My level 100 sorc has instant castdiamond dust solo, for example. And I 1 shot stuff.

Out of all MVP cards Fernir is going to be most common because of easy access to said MVP. It gives nice MATK, so it's gonna be popular. Might as well use that -fixed cast bonus. Heck, -50% variable coming from foresight, paired with 120int and spell enchant on staff is a lot of reduction by itself. I'd gladly take it over being forced to take particular gears, offering only casting bonuses and nothing more

50% from foresight does not stack additively with % reduction gears. It stacks multiplicatively. Therefore, if you want to insta, it does not help you at all.

also, even if you wanted damage, you'd still get insta without needing foresight.

 

6/6/7 faw + antique book card @ base 100 int is better than any garment for the sole purpose of damage. 

30% from your garment

32% from your double rwc scarabas

10 from your shoes (rm/sp5 +12 int gh boots) base 120 int at +12 is +100 matk, +(whatever the spell 5 is)
30 %(assuming perfect rolls cause heck, you have 2x fenrirs, its already a perfect world) from tsod skull cap combo spell 4-6/4-6

 

only thing more perfect than that is a bee card so you can swap to int 6/6 Tsod.

Myy sorc runs around with spell enchanted dex shoes (10%), spell enchanted tsod and skull cap of caster (40%), spell enchanted faw (30%), and spell enchanted rwc pendents (32%). Also magical shadow set (3%?). That's like 115% variable reduction. I have instant cast.

In either case, one item that wasn't mentioned was laphine staff (1% fixed reduction per upgrade level; nearly useless of course)

I'm pretty sure Sacrament does NOT "set" fixed cast time to 50%. I was casting insta sacrament on sakray (with 2 Fenrir Cards), and this didn't stop be from continuing to insta everything.

Sounds like it works like this:

Fixed Cast Reduction = max( skill_reduction , gear_reduction )

Possible. I have not personally tested with multiple sources of % fixed cast reduction from gears, apart from 2 fenrirs. Will have to see if Niddhogur's Shadow + Fenrir will grant insta.

Two Fenrir's is OP enough but sakray is not open now so I don't think anybody can test.

If two fenrir card stacks: is there by any chance that Fenrir Card + Celine Brooch Ribbon Combo would stack also? 70% + 50%?
