Priest

 

-Decrease High Heal threat (More and more player go DPS or change to soulmaker for FS Healer)

-Give more decent Buff for priest not just Blessing (Update Suffragium affecting party, reduce Angelus and Assumptio Cooldown or maybe something else so FS Priest is not about Blessing and Renovatio all day)

-Consider to fix perma stun chain (Aspersio + Judex)

 

 

Privacy

 

-Fix the friendlist and PM system (Confirmation to accept or reject when someone add me to his/her friendlist, give /exall command like RO1, offline status for friendlist, and when deleting someone from friendlist that other person list also affected)

 

EX:

Let say, i met a persistent beggar, he already add me to his friendlist.

He kept PM asking for zenny/items so i decided to block him, after that he changed to his alt and start to PM me again, so my blocklist is full of that person alt char.

 

I know how to turn off whisper notification, but it's rude to ignore people chat.

also it's irritating when someone idk randomly start to PM for grinding,etc. and the reason for me online was to chat with my guild members.

My class is A Priest with this stats. Unbuffed, NO VIP, no costume, no PILL

so YES, i can perma stun someone, with 175.44 Cooldown for YMIR, 26.32 for Archangel and 8.77 for Pet.

Keep in mind, all heal threat is the same for all active heal skills for all healers, 25% of the amount healed. Heal threat needs to exist so that there are risks involved with over-healing, otherwise things will always be easy (just spam without thinking). Unfortunately, SM's Cure is a heal over time, and those don't generate threat which makes it slightly more attractive, but if priests know what they are doing, they are definitely the better burst healer.

This is not directed specifically to you, but to all players: healers, DPS, and tanks:

Since you mentioned priest heals, I would assume you're more concerned about Highness Heal. The reason Highness Heal appears to have high threat is usually because Highness Heal is AOE, causing the Priest to heal too many targets. Take for example a Highness Heal which recovers 40k damage. Used on 1 target, it will generate 10k threat - not too bad. However, when a party is grouped together, healing 5 targets for example, it will heal 40k on all 5 targets - 200k in total, and will generate 50k threat - now that seems like a lot more.

What does this tell you? It means the high heal threat is partially the fault of OTHER members, not just the priest. If a ranged DPS does not need to be healed, don't let him stand with the tank! If they aren't near death, they should use potions and position themselves better, instead of causing stress for the healers. Too often I see lazy players stand in the line of fire when they don't need to - thus forcing the priest to heal more than they need to, generating more threat than they need to. If your party is mostly melee DPS and need to stand near tank, then just make sure they don't run around like idiots and do not to use your heavy heals unless you really need to. It is also a good idea to make sure the tank is using potions when possible. This generates a secondary benefit - tanks will generate extra threat when they use potions (exept Explorer potions) - making it easier for the priest when they do need to use Highness Heal in emergencies. Last note is obvious - don't use more heals than you need. Don't use a 40k Highness Heal when you only need to heal 5k damage, use Renovatio whenever possible.

One other problem is the Meditatio passive skill, which can't be avoided. It's the healer equivalent to Battle Tactics. You can't help that it multiples your critical heals to insane levels, but if you try some of the tips above, you can adapt to it quite comfortably and still enjoy super strong heals. A few VCRs are looking into adjusting how Meditatio works, but it's unfortunately low priority for developers ):. For now, we can only be smart players and adapt to it.

Yeah you're right about Meditatio and the use of HH on party, this usually become a problem when grinding, (MDPS or RDPS all stick together with a single mobber).

Maybe for players with decents +20 armors, it's not too much of a big deal. but some of my friends who didn't have the lux for +20 armor set, those ++rune and *4/5 Healer pet, it's really devastating. Trying to save his party member and end up the one who died :)


Just in case in the future pet system and vigor get nerfed, i hope the dev team have this matter into consideration.

As for my personal opinion, it's boring just to spam lamort or elder when partying because when i use HH all the mobs will come to me (well, its fun sometimes).

I don't like heal pets either, it feels like cheating XD. A good party doesn't need heal pets or +20 refined/high runes, as long as they are smart :)

If you just party with friends, it will be easier to teach them to do the right things. Every popular grind spot has "safe" standing areas for range DPS so +20 gear is not needed :). As long as melee DPS doesn't run ahead and lets the tank lure, they should never have to take damage too. All tanks should get 65%+ defense if they have correct level gear, so that should not be a problem either. Proper level gear is the minimum though. When I am grinding alt characters, it makes me scream when I see tanks using green level 60 gear (Desert Storm) when they are in level 74 (Darkwhisper Fortress) grinding area xD.

I agree with you on most part except for sm the real reason sm are preferred ro priest is not the lower threat but the specialiization in h.o.t. instead of high heal all together. For example in dw thanks have about 30-40k hp a priest can heal up to 40-60k all together this means that they waste hp that add threat to them but a tank can still die because the real problem at high level is not an high single hit but a really high number of hits per time. Sm instead have a lower amount of healing points but the fact that their heal is based on h.o.t. they don't waste hp outhealing you and instead null the monsters damage.
Stupid exsmple:
A knight has 50k
A priest can heal 100k every 30 seconds
An sm can heal 5k every 2s per 30s
If they both heal the knight
A priest will outheal him but will then leave him alone for 30 seconds (he can add his h.o.t. but is nothin compared to the sm one) instead a sm will slowly heal him without never abandoning him.
In the end in a grinding scenario where the tank suffer constantly multiple hits the single heal is simple useles or too risk since force the tank to play in a risky situation of low hp, instead the hot of an sm can maintain constant the tank hp.
What i want say is that under this aspect of overpowered priests and sm the first ones received a damage on their own instead the latter received a crazy buff and a promotion from support class to main healer.

SM hot exceed from priest and imo SM buff are far more usefull compared to 15% MHP.
High heal can give  a 10 second hot when combined with Aspersio, but who want to use a skill that attract hordes so much? moreover, at max 2.5s cooldown give more reason not to use that skill :P
 
 
 
Imho a fix to friendlist system is quite important, so please don't ignore this.

i'd had a strong argument with AS staffs early last year about this friend list, i was getting frustrated by strangers adding me into friendlist everyday, and stalked any channel i stayed on. anything you said was included in my suggestions, taking most of the features from other online games for exmaple, but after exchanged of over 10emails for like 3months, i gave up. and nothing happen on friendlist till now.

About priest rebalanced, i think a lot of people already post about them in the priest section, i'll blend in there xD.

oh this thread make me remember something weird about friendlist..

 

is it usual for a couple of character names not showing the login/logout notification on system chat whenever they login or log off? because for example, I have one long timefriend since open BETA on Indonesian RO2 (around september 2013) which IGN won't show up on my system chat whenever he logs in or out. I've tried to:

1. delete him from my friendlist then re-adding him

2. delete him from my friendlist, relog, then re-adding him

3. delete him from my friendlist on both sides then re-adding

4. delete him from my friendlist before he used nickname change scroll

 

all the above to no avail. his IGN stubbornly won't show up as a notification whenever he logs in or off... and my IGN also won't show up as a notification on his side. Strangely, I have also add his other character on the same ID as friend and it works fine, I get notification when he logs that chara on or off.

 

of course I can always open my Friend list to check whether he's online or not, but I rather have the notification like his other chara.. 

can someone explain me if there's a way to fix this problem?

This is a case where you need to file a ticket with customer support, as that is harassment. There will always be ways for someone to reach you in game since this is an MMO, even if development were to make changes. You need to involve support in cases like that.

Heard that nifelheim is soon to come. just want to speak out my mind if you don't mind :

 

When party and grinding, most people prefer Sm than priest. it is sad, considering that before SM appears , Priests are the main healers , everyone love priest. But now... people seek SM and priest is dps and no longer main healer ( or they rather not have priest in party T_T )...because when Priest use Highness heal, tons of monsters will come to kill him and even if the heal boosted with aspersio, it only last for 10 seconds. Sm in the other hand, have longer heal duration ( 30 seconds) and it increases the healing effect if you stack the Cure up to 3. The best part is, SM's CUre is bigger, longer, and no threat (it was similar to renobatio of priest only longer and much bigger value heal ). This is....so unfair....perhaps.. if possible, in the next expansion of Ro2 ( niffelheim expansion), can you balance it? so it will be easier for us the priests to find parties, and heal others? some of my friends turn from FS priest into DPS because nobody will take her as healer ( they prefer Sm)... please help us T_T

 

Also, one question, why SM weapon has much bigger magic power than priest? for example Serenia. i saw serenia handle ( 5 star) magic power is 5000. while serenia mace ( 4 star) is 3557 Magic power. ( notice that the stars does not effect magic power) Why the difference is very big ( 2000 )? Why Sm weapon more powerful than priests?

All things considered. It's true SM are better healer

But, Priest have lot of good DPS skills, while SM don't

Don't get me wrong. I'm a priest myself, i would love it if Priest Renovatio suddenly got more powerful and have longer duration.

 

But, try to look at it this way.

Priest already have devastating Ray of Genesis, Crazy Judex stun,  and 3 powerful DoT (I heard they will nerf this soon)

If suddenly Priest have stronger Renovatio with longer duration.

I believe SM will start a riot. Asking more DPS for SM

 

So, in this case. I'll say, the problem is not the skills, but the painful grinding system (ML 22 - 35).

DWL, DWU, FP forced players to choose SM instead of Priest

This is down to individual class differences. Soulmaker gets 2 Magic Power per Int, Priest gets 3 Magic Power per int. The final difference between the two classes is much smaller than that gap suggests.

 

Do note, there is set to be a rebalance in the future. Anything could still change.
