*off topic awhile* Mages imo are fine (although i haven't actually played one) they are suppose to dish out SUPER HIGH damage while in that exchanges for horrible def. Its how mages have worked since a lot of games. Just now people are playing less of it cuz of the horrible def as the def scale changed. For pvp arti on the other hand i kinda agree, even for pvm my arti is kinda soft. My only comments for matt

 

*back to topic* dodge has always been crazy high for the hawker class and i pretty much respected that cuz that's the ability of the class, it is SUPPOSE to have high dodge. The fact that you're bilittering about how the main stat of a class is pretty much showing somewhat a way that you want to get rid of the class.

 

Spears are fine if you build it right, in fact i know a friend that is a spear champ and she KILL raiders in CD all the time, even after the latest patch.

 

Lastly, all classes are made for pvp one way or another, be it 1vs1 or grp pvp or whatever, its a matter of how you use the current mechanics to deal with whatever there is in pvp/pvm atm. Unless you've actually tried hard enough, you won't get the result you want. 

 

Edited : although some classes are not made for 1vs1 and other classes are also not meant for grp damage, but still depends how you play it

Canehda, maybe the person who told me this is wrong, but they said you are using reinforced gear? Or that your character isn't fully geared?(not talking about 220s, but even 200 honors someone said you were using rein)..If that is true, that would also significantly make it difficult for you no matter what class you are using

This seems like one of those threads that get's no where cause it's pointing to a class being at fault but no build information is available. I don't think it's logical to even debate it if you can't get specifics. Maybe that's just me though.

Wut? I am using reinforced? lolololol. 

Anyway, I did some tinkering on my Champ and I am satisfied with it now.

This truely was a pointless thread, however stuff was learned, and my champ is now a tad bit stronger because of it. 

(also Leena, I am using Chiva/Exalted (15) sets)

I talk to a lot of champs, no one builds a Champ the way I've built mine, and no one would suggest doing it either. 
However, I am fairly certain I am happy with the balance of the PVM/PVP versatility my champ has. 
To truely learn this game, one must go out there and try 'controversial' builds

You're talking to the build Guru bro... I've built every class, every way I can think of, including Hybrids. I'm pretty sure you've got a build I tried at one point in another, and if you tell me what it is [PM if you want to retain secrecy] I could easily tell you your pit-falls.

Lets just say my Champ has 40k HP, Over 8k Defence. w/ (approx) 2.3k AP 
The a-speed is kinda insane too

That means you don't have cha or acc from what this looks like....  You're going to want to have those two stats more than AP or def.

@Canehda; Yeah sounds like a standard Tank/Melee build, nothing special. Get all the Aspeed you want, you can attack 1 or 3 times a second, if you can't hit then you're still doing 0 DPS. 

Also willing to bet you lack Crit, which is very BAD. Considering without it, taking crit = higher %HP cap [negating your max HP] so, GG.

Champs have dodge down debuff, which makes it so accu doesn't need to be that great, personally I think Charm is over-rated on champ builds (not saying I haven't put anything into charm) ... I appreciate your suggestion, but.. I like my champ how it's at

As they said, there is really nothing wrong with champs, they do more than fine:

-SF have that annoying dodge down that really screw up hawkers (ofc combined with a brain (the most important stuff!) and decent gear)

-Axe's have high critical making them almost immune (the good ones are just plain immune) to criticals, dealing up to 6k dmg with 1 blow

-Spears have those aoes that imo are AMAAAZING, if your build doesnt work dont blame it on the job. As they said before, there is a spear champ that rapes in CD anything that gets on her range.

 

So why is she doing more than fine but you are failing?..... Food for thought

I am happy you found a solution , but also why the katar comment's  . Dual is superior IMO , most of draco doesn't even know how to kill you once you complete your sets and extra honor sets for different gem setup's .  has been my experience for months im sure plenty here can agree. and  katar is mindless class even if i recently switched back because i was bored.

I've seen some Katar's switching up the routines lately. Some are getting very good at what tehy do, but you're also right saying that Duals have a nack for pulling through combat with the win, but that if they're played properly.
