Hi everyone, I thought I'd share with you a highly effective tactic for condor grinding parties today. With a little bit of extra effort, and no special gears required, you can drastically improve your exp rate at condor parties by using this grinding method. I'll go over the pros/cons, instructions, and videos in this guide.

Pros & Cons

While this method is much quicker compared to the way most condor parties operate, it does take a bit more effort on the part of the healer - they'll be the weakest link in this strategy. You wont need any special gear to pull this off, but you should at least try to get a complete set of desert equipment which you can find either from monster drops, or for a few zeny per piece at the auction house.

By continually luring monsters and killing them quickly in small batches, you not only save the time for the tank to drop them off and help kill them, but you also allow new condors to begin respawning much more quickly since they don't spend as much time chasing a tank around while they gather condors.

The priest in the demonstration videos is using entirely un-honed, un-punched, common equipment that any new player can attain with just a few minutes of preparation.

Instructions

The basis of this strategy is that one player continuously lures condors in a loop around the central party. The tank stays with the healer and DPSs in this strategy, while one of the other party members rides their mount in order to lure more quickly.

The key point where this technique deviates from a standard party is that the lurer never returns to the center to drop off the condors. Instead, the healer should use quick single target heal skills (like priest's Heal, or sorcerer's Healing Wave) to transfer the threat from the lurer to the healer. This causes all condors currently following the lurer to divert to the healer, bringing them straight to the tank/DPS players.

The healer must be wary not to allow too many condors to build up on the lurer, and to keep themselves at full health so that they don't get overrun before the tank and DPS can take care of the condors that they pull in.

The lurer must make sure to frequently walk within range of the healer to "drop off" the trailing condors, so that they can be targeted for a heal spell.

Videos

For the purpose of this demonstration, we used a 3 player party instead of 5 players. The warrior in the party was equipped with a +20 menace weapon and will play the role of the tank and 2 additional DPS characters in this simulation. In reality, your tank and 2 DPS players will more than make up for the extra damage the warrior's +20 sword is dealing in this video. The lurer's gear is largely unimportant since they wont take very much damage, and also get healed constantly.

I'd like to point out that, in the Lurer's Perspective video, the priest didn't have Sacrament buff enabled, but did have it in later parts of the Tank Perspective video. It's kinda important to have that up at all times while healing, since it boosts heal values and gives heal targets extra Phys/Magic Attack when your heals crit (and if you use Highness Heal on yourself, it will hit the DPS/tank as well, and they'll get the boost if it crits on them).

Always keep Sacrament up!

But don't worry too much if you forget, I do that all the time. Just find a moment when everything is calm and activate it.  :p_swt:
