So I got an update saying along the lines "You have a year from July to upgrade to a free full version of Windows 10".

Thing is, I don't pay enough attention to Windows, but I always follow the rule of 1 good 1 bad when it comes to Microsoft operating systems.

That would lead me to assume 10 would be good, but has anyone actually checked into this at all? Would really like to hear some other opinions on this @_@

P. S. I use 7, not 8, but I hear anyone with a legit copy of 7, 8 or 8.1 can get it free :)

Windows 10 is technically Windows 9. They just decided to skip the naming to 10 for some reason.

Still sticking with my Windows 7, though.

Win10 so far appears to be a little more stable than Win7, and with Metro UI disabled it runs lighter, keeping in mind that the Win10 RC isn't fully optimised. It comes with the start menu built-in which was the biggest drawback of 8. 10 also comes with DX12 support out of the box which is vastly improved from the earlier DX series entries. Optional touchscreen support. Better 3D options.

Ofc it's going to be a little buggy on release, as all MS OSes are, but it's looking to be a major contender.

isn't the update also offered to non-legit versions as well? if i remember correctly, users who use pirated windows will also receive a free update offer, updating their current windows to 10 and making it legit. personally, i'd rather wait a few months after release to have some critical bugs resolved. i am also still playing a lot of old games and i'm afraid that they might not run properly on windows 10 at release.

All MS OSes are buggy the first 6 months. Windows 10 will pretty much be an iteration of Windows 8.1 for desktop users. The main thing are UI changes. For ARM based versions of Windows 10 it will offer more since they are moving towards a unified code standard. You can program something for ARM, Mobile, and x86 desktops from the same code. It won't be the same x86 code used in Windows 7, but it will unify the platform. Also Microsoft is creating an easy method to migrate Android and iOS programs to Windows Mobile. However, Windows Mobile has always been the platform easiest to develop for out of those 3 OSes.

I'm on Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10130

Ragnarok 2 runs flawlessly on this build, but the Game bar isn't supported yet.

Ragnarok 1 runs good too, with Gamebar supported.

That's good to know. I hope it stays that way on release.

I'm sure a lot of people will be iffy about upgrading due to assumed compatibility issues.

Can you run RO1 in Fullscreen? I know in Win8 you pretty much couldn't, as I have seen from other users.

Good news, it didn't make my computer explode. Still reorganizing some stuffs. Other good news is that there is a search bar on the taskbar. This may not seem like much, but I used to get around by using the Win+R key, substituted to just the Win key in later iterations. Things like "Win+R C:\". May seem dumb, but its faster than clicking on My Computer then C:\.

Highly suggest it!

RO runs fine on Windows 10, no different than Windows 7.

Good to know. I always thought that it had compatibility issues with RO.
