U don't preempt an artist's interpretation of things just like that. =V What if she just wanted the male outfit for her female char coz she's not comfortable with showing a lot of skin? =/

Thanks kokeshicat.  You don't seem to be around the creative forum as frequently anymore; busy with real life or Pokemon Go?  :heh:

Also, sharing my Christmas Screenloader 2016 entry:

Those complimentary private airship tickets are all over the place, nobody wants them. You can check the soles of your footwear for some, you might've stepped on one already. xD
Thanks! You should've submitted it nonetheless to become part of the Christmas Screnloader at least. There's not so many entries submitted this year. Where do we get to see your Christmas art, btw?

I haven't been walking around a lot in Rune Midgard lately, there was none on my shoes.  :heh: Maybe I'll find some on my short holiday break.

It wasn't fitting with the theme so I didn't submit there lol.  It's in the general loading screen thread, tho, and on my site.  Dunno if it will/can be used or not but oh well!

Haha. Maybe. If none still, you can check the garbage bins, there must be a lot in those. LEL

Ow. I revisited the gen loading screen and realized I already seen it some time after you posted it there. It's nice. I like the way you colored it and how you played with the "bouncing light"--something I often overlook in my works. But why did you not make another art that fits the theme of the contest? I must say that the quality of your work has a good chance of winning.

Thanks for the compliments!  I don't have time lately, so I couldn't make a whole new drawing.  I'm also relatively new at digital drawing and the level of process I do now.

I like to pull away from "real color and lighting", if that makes sense, when I get to the coloring stage.  Stylized coloring might be the phrase.  I think it's fun that way, but more realistic coloring can look nice too. :D  I enjoy the lighting used in your art, especially the highlighting of the edges that give a nice glow effect.  And your figure drawings look so full of life; did you/are you going to school for art, or are you self-trained?

Cool! I'm also trying to explore the stylized way of doing art to veer away from my usual style. Stylized always has its unique touch to it that doesn't get "old". Haven't been successful in pulling one off tho. lol

Ow you noticed that stuff? "The glow effect" was just an addition from out of the blue. Just allowed myself to be a little adventurous on some stuff. And thank you. I'm self-trained that's why almost all aspects of my craft are based on "wild guesses". I wish I could get the opportunity to get some formal education/training for art tho. How about you?

I can see that, especially in your recent works that you've posted.  My style is too all over the place, I don't have an established style I think.  About stylized art, that's probably why people say games like Mario and Ragnarok are "timeless", but realistic style games tend to age quickly (thinking 'realistic' PS1 era, lol, but even some PS3 games are seen that way now).

I have a background in fine arts and graduated with an art history degree, so I've been trained to notice details in art, maybe that's why.  It makes it easier to apply techniques of other people's art that I think are appealing, but remake it in my own style.

I thought for sure you've taken figure drawing classes at least (poses/lighting), so that's interesting that you haven't.  Taking courses is nice but not required when it comes to learning, but it can help with networking and portfolio, resume, direction.

Also, an interesting thing I noticed, when you learn new things in one area (photography, etc), the skills transfer to other areas of art (drawing, etc).  So even if I wasn't focused on drawing, my skills were still developing through photography lessons, as an example.  I miss that more than anything else from education.

Ow. Glad to hear that my effort in coming up with a stylized approach on my works is somehow noticeable. Haha. I actually see some "uniformity" in your works that make them "your art". So I suppose you've already established a style of your own. And yes, I agree with your observation about stylized art vs. realistic art.

I see now why you're keen on certain details in artworks. Wish I have the same background as yours coz I'm aware that possessing a sharp observation on details helps greatly in improving one's own craft. I guess I can say that I was somewhat able to improve mine by observing and actually admiring other's work. But with your inherent talent and your power of observation, I'm sure you'll get far in whatever field you indulge in, may it be trad art, digi art, photography, or other stuff. And I think I can also agree that whatever learning you had in another field gets translated into a another but related field of interest.
