[Akupuff]

SO, I'm trying to organize ET where I'm tanker and people kill. I'm trying to accumulated best possible gears for most tanking scenarios, starting with MVP's at ET.

 

I'm interested in Reflect Gears, because those keep the rest of the party pretty safe and since they will be low level, I want to ensure their safety. Not many topics I've seen on that, so I dug a bit and found some gears, but I wanted to ask if there were more. Also, what's the optimal combo of those gears? Limiting ourselves to ET for now, what gears are important.

 

Sura is 108 as of now. ~90 STR, ~90 VIT, ~75 DEX, ~30 INT

 

This gears I have prepared (non-Reflect)

 

AK Helms [Red Stone and Blue Stone]

+7 Survivors Rod [3x Fabre] (What better weapons are there?)

Valk Shields [Alice, Thara, Khalitz, Hodre, Ogretooth]

Variants

+6 Temp VIT [Rudo]

+9 iHBP [Raydric]

 

I don't have any accessories or shadow sets made specifically for tanking. Suggestions?

 

After digging a bit, I found about these gears for Reflect+Other Stuff

 

Sheep Hat

High Orc (Any good shield reccomendation?)

RoR+RoFL (Some say it's not worth it...)

Divine Cross (No shield though...)

CD in Mouth

 

So, what's the best combo for both resist and reflect? Should I be changing constantly? What about accessories? Shadow sets?

would think as long as you have one reflect gear (non-autocast), the rest can be all be reducs, maybe some mHP gears;

using autocast gear will just eat up lexes that were meant for the killers (mainly referring to when fighting bosses);

 

not sure if you checked this out already but pickleee had a nice post here; very relevant regarding reflect tanking and accessories;

I like Long Mace for sura tank for the range reducts, you can also get vit enchants/def enchants using the lowest grade coins. Sheep is best reflect, since you don't sacrifice a shield like high orc. I typically just use RoR on Sura tank vs ROR ROFL. You can prob even do RORx2 for double the healing/assumptio.

 

whatever the neutral shadow reduct one is what I use on my sura. Athena shield+something else lol can't remeber...

 

I don't use sheep specifically, only becuz if my sura is tanking, he's tanking bio3/4 mvp's, and there no need to reflect those. Some MVPs you need reflect, some you don't. I use palace guard cap mostly, immune shield with alice, red stone AK if vs alchemist MVP, 3d glasses. I like stacking neutral reducts. sura is lv150 and tanks like a champ, can take gfists from chen MVP wearing GTB and has no problem with LK MVP

Interesting, these would work really well for TI's, though keep in mind MVP cannot be silenced. I like the SP restore idea though. You might even be able to pull off using ROR+ROFL combo with this and be able to multi-gfist MVPs once SP restores xD

And yes, I did check that post. That's why I was thinking of getting 2x Glorious Rings, for the extra reducs and HP even.

Well, Bio MVP is surely out of our range, but it's a nice guide as to which gears to use when we get there

Hmm.You don't need reflect gear to tank MVPs in ET,but u have to stand against the wall or wear bryn

Base level is important too for stun immunity. You'll probably be fine when you're around level ~135 for ET. Your current level can probably take your group to level 80 for ET or so already though.

I mostly just swap to Sheep Hat if I ever need reflect. As others said, just one piece of reflect gear is enough already to keep monsters / certain MVPs on you.

Hello I remember I made a vid doing reflect lvling sura with an Orc lord card. I will post vid of that been some time I think I was switching between kvm wand and Kvm mace. I found the mace to be better while using the rofl combo due to so many physical attacks and still does decent dmg on bolts.

I open gears can get idea of dmg this was also sometime ago so gears are little outdated and can always be adjusted to what need.

I usually play sura for ET too. If I may just share the gears and stats that I usually use for ET:

 

Headgear:

- Witch Pumpkin Hat + Alarm Mask for cheap healing

- AK helm for hard hitting MVPs (Valk & Beelzebub)

 

I think if your sura will be regularly tanking in ET, WPH will be a good hat to invest in. Not many MVPs in ET require MS Sura to wear AK helm, so for the ones I can get by with, I'll try to use WPH to save cost. And I'll usually use yggberries or seeds to heal up during Beelzebub. Bzb likes to use critical wound, so it's cheaper and more weight efficient to just use those instead of using ranked slims.

 

Garment:

- +9 Raydric/DR HBP

 

For neutral reduction gear. I also reset my sura to get Rising Dragon 10. That way, sp is not an issue and I don't need to bring straws to ET (less straws, more pumpkins/seeds).

 

Armor:

- Glorious Suit (20% HP, to prevent from being 1-hit by EQs). Or you can opt for Ghostring armor too.

- Unfrozen Wind or Valk Armor (for ESL and Naught)

 

Weapon:

- +7 or higher Laphine Staff (for faster MS recast while tanking if needed). Remember to ask AB for Sacra!

- Long Mace is good too (I also never thought of using it XD)

 

If you have rising dragon 10, you'll probably have leftover spheres to be able to recast MS directly. But if you don't, I suggest using RoFL with reflect shield to recharge the spheres.

 

Shield:

- Alice Valk Shield (to be used alternatingly with reflect shield)

- Ogreetooth Valk Shield (for normal mobs)

- High Orc (Reflect) Round Buckler

 

I periodically swap my shield between alice and high orc to keep up the reflecting status on the MVP. 

 

Footgear:

- +9 Firelock E. Variant

- I want to try using Rudo E. Variant too though. The endure effect might be useful when we're pulling the MVPs toward a corner.

 

Accessory:

- Phen Silversmith

- RoFL (or Glorious Ring).
